Cards having a power outage this spring.
Carpenter goes on a tear.
I see both these trends reversing once the games start counting.

Starting pitching is not encouraging so far.I was surpised to see that he accumulated 237 PA’s last season. I’d say that’s quite a few looks for a guy who hit .176 and is effectively limited to DH duties. The Redbird manager may see that he gets 300 PA’s with the Cardinals this season. Probably from the 3 slot…

By the way, in case anybody is interested……
Today I went to the Amish restaurant north of town. Din-din was catfish fiddlers, mashed potatoes/gravy, green beans, noodles, dressing, sweet iced tea, a piece of chocolate cake with white icing, and some vanilla soft serve ice cream. Yum yum!
What is everybody else having for din-din on Saturday the 23rd?

That means an outfield of Burleson, Carlson, and Walker. Those two corner outfielders don’t exactly thrill me.

I might switch Walker and Carpenter for now then once Nootbar and or Edman return he goes to the bench.
If it’s vs Glasnow opening day, stack the lineup full of lefties. He’s shutdown vs rhb’s. Crawford starting for Winn should be on the table, if both are ready.

Lynn had single digits IP this spring, before today. So today wouldn’t really be representative of what he will do throughout the season. But the season opens in 4 days, so he and the organization are out of time to get him ready.
Its almost out of time to get everyone ready, but I see all the regulars came out early today, even Winn who is batting barely .200. Maybe they think a couple more PAs wouldn’t do him any good. Maybe they thought getting another look at Saggese at short was more important. Maybe they weren’t thinking at all, lets go with that.
By any chance are these final two ST games with the Cubs going to be televised? Either on BSMW or Marquee?

Donovan – On 3-2 Brendan raps a one hopper out to Hoerner at 2nd and he’ll flip it on over to 1st for the first out in this ballgame.
Goldy – On 3-2 Goldy foul tips it into the catcher’s glove for out #2.
Gorman- On 3-2…..sound like a broken record here……but it’s a different tune this time as the final result is not an out, but rather a base on balls.
Arenado- Rips one down the 3rd base line and into the left field corner and he’ll check into 2nd base with a double while Gorman will have to cease his forward progress at 3rd base…..boy did Nolan destroy that pitch…..would love to see the mph on that baby.
