jj-cf-stlParticipantMets at Brewers starting.
October 2, 2024 at 6:42 pm #268718The Royals advance with a 2-1 win over the Orioles. The road team has now won 5 of 6 games played so far in this ’24 post-season. That’s baseabll.

ParticipantWell the orioles just sucked. One run in two games. Pretty pathetic especially at home.
October 2, 2024 at 6:44 pm #268720Man alive…I had forgotten that the Royals lost 106 games last season.
October 2, 2024 at 7:00 pm #268721
jj-cf-stlParticipantThey didn’t quit trying to win.
October 2, 2024 at 7:04 pm #268722
jj-cf-stlParticipantTEX won the last championship with 90 wins. They won 68 the previous season.
October 2, 2024 at 7:06 pm #268723
jj-cf-stlParticipantMets with a rally going.
October 2, 2024 at 7:11 pm #268724
jj-cf-stlParticipant3-1 Mets going to the bottom 2nd.
3 runs for 6 outs…. Not goodOctober 2, 2024 at 7:42 pm #268726Orioles delivered 1 run and 2 extra base hits in 18 innings. If that’s all you can do in 18 playoff innings, then 18 innings is all you get to play.
October 2, 2024 at 7:46 pm #268727KC manager Matt Quatraro took over for Mike Matheny’s 97 loss ’22 team and promptly loses 106 in ’23. But the Royal’s bosses stay with him and he’s got his team in the post-season and advancing to the next round. Why can’t we find anyone like this guy?
October 2, 2024 at 7:59 pm #268728The Braves escaped a big time jam in the last of the 1st at Jack Murphy Stadium. The Padres had the bases loaded and nobody out against Fried. Machado struck out, Merrill a ground out force at home, and Boogers grounded out.
1-0 Atlanta after one inning.
October 2, 2024 at 8:04 pm #268729I still think it’s a flawed set-up that doesn’t give all 6 division champions a first round pass, but I guess it’s the only way they can do it with the way the post-season rounds are currently formulated.
October 2, 2024 at 8:11 pm #268730By the way, this could be the last that we see of Front Row Amy in Milwaukee until the 2025 season begins. Always a sad day..:)
October 2, 2024 at 8:14 pm #268731Uh oh…Machado with a 2 out bases loaded 2 run double to lift the Padres to a 3-1 lead.
October 2, 2024 at 8:17 pm #268732Now Merrill with a 2 out bases clearing double to make it 5-1. Fried and the Braves are in big trouble out in SD.
October 2, 2024 at 8:22 pm #268733I was switched over to the Braves/Padres game and missed the Brewers run to cut the Mets lead to 3-2, but see on the box that it came on a SF. Whatever it takes to push runs across HP. A sac-fly is as good as a solo tater.
October 2, 2024 at 8:35 pm #268734The Brewers escape a 6th inning bases loaded jam to keep it a 3-2 game and possibly take some home field momentum into the home half of the inning.
October 2, 2024 at 8:47 pm #2687351td, I don’t know that I would put the turnaround on the manager of the Royals. A lot of the key players on this year’s Royals were in their first year in the majors in 2022. They only had 2 starting pitchers with an ERA below 5.00 in 2022. This is a totally different Royals team in 2 years time.
October 2, 2024 at 9:00 pm #268736Well, he doesn’t seem to have hurt. KC suffered through 7 consecutive losing seasons before the Royals qualified for bonus baseball in ’24. Now they’ve advanced by defeating the third best team in the AL in the first round. But I get what you’re driving at, Forsch. It doesn’t hurt to have Witt Jr. and a catcher that resembles a Sherman tank situated behind HP…Haha!
Edit…And I almost have to mention one more time that KC lost 106 games in ’23. That’s a 60 game W/L pct. turnaround in a year…Haha!
October 2, 2024 at 9:07 pm #268737Brewers tie it up 3-3 on an 8th inning solo tater from Chourio.
October 2, 2024 at 9:15 pm #268738
jj-cf-stlParticipantBig rally by the Brewers. They blew up Maton.
5-3 MIL after 8October 2, 2024 at 9:19 pm #268739
stlcard25ParticipantAll these upstart teams are showing that the postseason really is a crapshoot. That’s why Mo and Dewitt have shown that they really are ahead of the curve, once again. They’ve got postseason certainty down to a science…that’s the only way to explain all the consecutive losses.
October 2, 2024 at 9:22 pm #268740Yeah, the home teams are beginning to even things out, jj. The law of averages seem to have more of an impact in baseball than any other major team sport.
October 2, 2024 at 9:25 pm #268741
jj-cf-stlParticipantBrewers win 5-3 and tie the series. They earned it.
My day was made when the HOU club got swept.
October 2, 2024 at 9:45 pm #268742
jj-cf-stlParticipantStarting to get late for the Braves.
