Albert HAS to at least think about playing one more year. Yeah, it’s nice to ride off in the sunset on top, but like my father used to say…..”you never ride off into the sunset with a full tank of gas”…….and Albert’s tank is spilling over.

I wish the cubbies had 3 or 4 more lefties slated to start in this series. They could be Steve Carlton, Lefty Grove, John Tudor and CY Young…..it really wouldn’t matter because Albert would drill them.
Amazingly, it looks like we don’t lose much defensively with Albert manning 1st base. Is it possible to have two GG 1st base recipients on the same team in the same year?
693 pretty good. I said at the start of the season that I felt if given opportunity Albert could get to 700. Now I don’t think he’s been given full opportunity but he’s taken full advantage of what he has been given. Monty pitching great tonight as well.
I know this game isn’t over yet, but if it ends 1-0 and you HAD to award one and only one game ball. Who gets it……Albert or Montgomery? That’s a toughie, but I think I’d have to flip the ball Montgomery’s way.
I’m sure quite a few are already aware of this, but if you take a look at the all time leaders in GIDP’s 9 of the top 10 are HOF’ers.
Well you have to have played a long time and put a lot of balls in play to hit into a lot of double plays.

And there’s another Albert DP that Carter may miss……. probably watching Thurston Howell III being revived by Lovie waving a wad of $100 bills under his nose on Gilligan’s Island.
