When Garcia threw only 2 pitches in the 8th, I said that Schildt would be stupid to take him out. Sure enough, Garcia comes out and Gallegos gives up a first pitch home run in the 9th. Reyes came in and did his job. (I think the walk to Villar was one of those “who cares if I walk him” walks that actually should have been strike out on ball 4) Luckily, we come out and hit the ball in the 11th.
One has to wake up pretty darn early to slip one by ol’ Pugsaronias. Big big win if we can hang on…..so have an extra nip, Euro Dandy.

Same here forsch. The Mets announcers were assuming he would close too. 24 straight scoreless innings or 50% success close rate — which do you choose? 4D chess master saw it the way he saw it. Bull pens aren’t his thing.
Looks like poor bullpen management lingers into the 11th inning when this one should’ve been on ice twice.
