3-2-5 double plays saves the game for now.

Cards get the DP to get out of the inning (3-2-5).

Still not sure about the move to pull Carlson out of the game.

Rondon singles. Sosa with a chance to give Cards the lead.

Sosa is making it hard for the Cardinals to spend big bucks on a free agent shortstop this offseason.

Knizner with a big hit to drive in two. Just what the team needed!

Who closes now? Miller, Miller, McFarland?

Wooster, I was going Scotch-free tonight, but I better pour myself a double.

Really good to see Knizner get that hit. I’ve been waiting for him to do something. He picked a good time!

And our good buddies in Pittsburgh hung on to defeat Cincinnati tonight 6-5. Could be a very prosperous evening.

Has to be McFarland, Euro. And watch your 2 shot limit too.

See what I mean, Wooster? You can’t slip one by Pugs.

When Garcia threw only 2 pitches in the 8th, I said that Schildt would be stupid to take him out. Sure enough, Garcia comes out and Gallegos gives up a first pitch home run in the 9th. Reyes came in and did his job. (I think the walk to Villar was one of those “who cares if I walk him” walks that actually should have been strike out on ball 4) Luckily, we come out and hit the ball in the 11th.

One has to wake up pretty darn early to slip one by ol’ Pugsaronias. Big big win if we can hang on…..so have an extra nip, Euro Dandy.

Now you totally forget about this meaningless runner out at 2nd base.

You’re not far off base with that comment, Wooster…..thanks!

That was an ugly fly ball double hit by Alonso. That ball should have been caught.

Same here forsch. The Mets announcers were assuming he would close too. 24 straight scoreless innings or 50% success close rate — which do you choose? 4D chess master saw it the way he saw it. Bull pens aren’t his thing.

Looks like poor bullpen management lingers into the 11th inning when this one should’ve been on ice twice.

Is there anything more combustible than the Cardinal bullpen? Ughhhhhh

Put the tying run on base? Sets up the DP, but also sets up a tie game. 12th inning anyone?

Rondon reminded me of Nelson Cruz on the Freese triple in the World Series.
