A true contender would overcome this 1 run late deficit.
Very true, but I’m still a little worried, so need to add another statement to this. A true contender would keep the lead after overcoming the 1-run deficit.
Gallegos might be gassed from last night. Can’t recall if he went one or two frames last night? Reyes anyone? Reyes, RatsBuddy? McFarland?
These Met batters simply don’t stand a chance vs Cabby…..talk about overmatched. I’d love to see him not only finish the 8th, but also close the door in the 9th. He’s begging to go 3. Yes, have Cabby bat in the 9th…..he’ll probably go long then trot on out there and put the finishing touches on this 4-3 Cardinal victory.

He’s had a bit of a rough go of it lately, but I think we’ll see a lot more of Lars Nootbaar in 2022. Pinch hitting here in the 9th.

What happened with Garcia? I figured he’d close since he faced just one batter in the 8th. He has 24 consecutive scoreless innings, but Shildt goes with the guy who is about 50/50 on saves and has blown 8 of them now. A real 4D chess master.
Using all these bull pen guys seems to increase your chances one of them is gonna have a bad night. Must have used 5 or 6 guys tonight?
It sure does, Wooster. Cards don’t dent the scoreboard in the 10th and now we’re in serious trouble. We had this one.
And I’m sick of these lame Balance of Nature commercials. If I have to see that nerd doing a kick-flip with his skate board one more time and then claiming he owes it all to that Balance of Nature snake oil, I’ll frigging scream.
