Carp not taking the bait. He takes a rare swing at 3-0. Junk strike call. 3-2. Carp finally walks. Fowler up.

    Carpenter deserved that walk

Do they pitch around Fowler to get to bader.

Patino looking a little rattled. Nearly chucks one away.

Fowler drives one….into the deepest part of the park. Ugh. End of inning.

Crud I thought Fowler got enough of that one.

I had to turn down my volume tonight. Sutcliffe is bad enough but they added someone equally as bad.

Cards 8-39 with RISP in this series. Difference in the series so far.

Jack slipping off the mound again. That scares me for his Achilles.

Goldys glance at DeJong spoke volumes, too funny

Nice inning by a Flaherty to keep the game 1-0.

Do you pinch hit for a Bader here?

It’s been a great game by flaherty at this point, same can’t be said for offense. Maybe something can start now

Jack was excellent in that 6th. He had some strong innings and some not great ones but he got it done. 6 innings, 6 hits and 8 Ks. 1 run. Make a winner out of the Socal boy, Cards!

1964 I was just wondering that myself. PH Miller then put TON in? Or save Miller for RISP?

Well probably smart move by shildt, the way bader looked last at bat plus lefty vs eighty.

Miller got a nice pitch to hit on 2-0. Had to pinch hit for Bader. Still, he flies out. Only 8 more outs for this team to get something done.

Oh well that didn’t work out, I’d put oneil in for defense, miller isn’t too great on that

The breathless love for the Padres by this ESPN crew is annoying. I would root against them even if they weren’t playing the Cards.

Wong with the grounder that just rolls foul. Sigh.

Rinse and repeat. Fly out to Pham in left. Is it hero ball time by these guys now?

Oh stlcard25, they want the Padres to win. Everyone wants to see the so called bat flipping star on the big stage, they said that on pardon the interruption.
