Ugh, Carpenter. I would have gone with Miller, but then he was nothing to shout about the last couple of weeks either. How bad is our offense you ask?
It is so bad, our cleanup hitter had an OPS+ of 66, and a -.1 WAR. It is so bad our #5 guy protects the #4 guy with an OPS+ of 81, and a whopping .1 WAR (hey, at least it is positive). Our #6 guy…well, you get the picture.
But it’s a new day. Carlson was trending up at the end of the year, so let’s just see.

After two exhausting long nights of burning the midnight oil, your’s truly has his selection. The Pads win games 1 & 3 to end our season. Now now now do not jump off the ledge yet. Though it seems as if my picks border on perfection, please allow me to remind you that I only hit on a documented 82.7% of ML baseball games(since 1996). What’s on tap for din-din tonight you may ask? Though my lesser half is totally against having breakfast for dinner, tonight I get my way. How does three medium poached eggs over two pieces of white toast grab you? Make sure to sprinkle a healthy dose of melted butter over them, along with salt and pepper. Looking like the Reds and the Cubs haven’t represented the NL Central well so far..gonna be up to the Cards and Brewers to save face.
That was a really good first inning for the Cards offense. Now let’s see KK come out and have a nice 1-2-3.
I don’t think I imagined the disdain in the pbp guy’s voice when he pointed out Carlson was “hitting just .200” right before he doubled.
Try doing some homework and digging into those numbers.
