It’s between Kelly, Knizner, and Montero. I’m going to go with Knizner at #5. I think he will eventually hit for power. Maybe 20 homers a year? The intangibles are strong with him, too. Everyone likes him and his work ethic. He has made strides defensively.

Glad to see you’re almost poised to pull the trigger on Nunez, Pads. I love Elvis Montero, but if Nunez had a few chromosonal changes, I’d be on both knees proposing matrimony…..Malcom @ #5 por favor.

While I admire your tenacity, Pugs, I have to go with Elehuris Montero at #5, please.

Dominated his league at a young age, got markedly better as the season went on — in terms of both power and plate discipline — and according to the numbers at Baseball Prospectus, despite somewhat shaky error totals, he’s been a solid defender at every single professional stop.

I had him #2 in the system behind Alex Reyes (or third behind O’Neill and Reyes, if you consider O’Neill eligible), and roughly top 40 in all the minors. Looks like an above average regular in the long term.

The suspense is killing me or is it the irony? No one has pumped the tires on Elehuris Montero more then me right from the get-go and his potential seems to be growing at a fast rate, but I had him rated behind Knizner, so I’m sticking to my list (damn that Nyquist). The guilt of having him maybe voted next and I didn’t back my boy is killing me. The voting difference for me; Knizner displayed his talents right from the draft and has been high in our polling. EH is still raw potential making a big leap in his prospect status. Should I be happy for Elehuris if he’s voted # 5 or pissed at myself for not being responsible for it. It’s gonna be a long weekend waiting for Pads to close this one!!!

#5 Elehuris Montero. This is the closest rankings in my top 10 between Montero, Knizner, and Kelly. To me Montero possess the most upside, particularly if his defensive struggles are overrated. Huge bonus points for being an above avg hitter in the always difficult FL state league. I am curious to see if they give him the Evan Mendoza treatment or push him to AA to begin next season. Either way I’m anxious to see him in the more hitter friendly Texas League. Still a big challenge at his age.

Still waiting on IRCard, Mr.Perkins, Forsch and Gscott and maybe a few others. Pads is patient because he doesn’t want folks to stop participating.

I wasn’t calling for the voting to end. I was just surprised no votes had been cast.

Its a tight race between Knizner (6 votes), Montero (6 votes) and Kelly (4 votes).

At a standoff now with 5 for Kelly and 6 each for Knizner and Montero.

We really need one more to finish out by noon. At least we most likely know who prospect 5-7 are.

Tyler O’Neill hit yesterday, but walked keeping his at-bat count at 116 (130 min).

O’Neill is at 118 after the weekend. 12 to go.

Sorry, it’s been a busy weekend. This is getting to be a tough decision. Montero looks like a hitter and is barely 20. Knizner looks like a better hitter than Kelly but doesn’t have quite the same defense. I am getting really concerned about Kelly’s ability to hit enough in the majors and would prefer to see him traded in a package for a major upgrade to some position or a future impact prospect.

    #5 – Montero

I don’t know if I will go much beyond the top 10 to 15. Beyond that, I don’t feel that I have enough information to make an educated guess.

There are a few prospects that I am intrigued by and would love to have some more information on: Jhon Torres, Andy Young, Tommy Edman, Leandro Cedeno, Ivan Herrera, Malcolm Nunez and Genesis Cabrera. And Lane Thomas.

Im in for Knizner here…even if Kelly is eligible i think Knizner leapfrogged him for prospect rating even if Kelly may be higher on the depth chart

Sorry for being late to the party, I’ll go with Kelly here at #5, but at this point him and Knizner are about at the same spot for me.

“Elvis Monterey.” I like that. Combine Pugs’ and Pads’ nomenclatures. Has a real ring to it.

And I’ll take Andrew Knizner at #6, please.
