Pads, what is the final verdict and explanation of how ties were handled for #41-45?
October 14, 2017 at 10:57 am #36027Pads’ used the following steps in breaking ties:
1. How many voters actually voted for a player
2. How many votes a player got in the previous roundUsing that method Wisdom and Plummer had the same amount of voters, but Wisdom had more votes in the previous round. Valera had 6 voters this round compared to Wick’s 4.

47 Ellis (I dont think he’s gotten a single vote other than mine) – good stuff. May never figure it out. But if he does could be an effective starter or a reliever in the bigs.
48. Derian Fernandez – cant believe this guy hasn’t got a single vote. #30 Community last year and didn’t suck this year.
49. Ortega
50. Julio Rodriguez – could have gone with another catcher -Lopez- but I have a gut feeling about Rodriguez.October 14, 2017 at 6:29 pm #3605446. Bandes
47. Young
48. Shew
49. Wick
50. TrosclairOctober 14, 2017 at 11:45 pm #36068CC; I assume you meant Derian Gonzalez.
October 15, 2017 at 12:14 am #3607146. Evan Kruczynski
47. Elehuris Montero – Led JC in runs, doubles, homers, slugging and rbi.
48. Luis Bandes – Let our GCL team with 49rbi in 50 games, along with a 10hr, .520slg & .301ba
49. Ivan Herrera – 17 year old led DSL team with a .335ba, .425obp & 15 doubles.
50. Freddy De Jesus – Another 17 year old led team with 7hr.October 15, 2017 at 6:07 am #3607314NyquisT

ParticipantI can’t believe we have guys dropping out of the process other than the fact that it is not organized or maintained. Bogus at best.
October 15, 2017 at 6:17 am #3607614NyquisT
ParticipantI still have 10 solid prospects to go to top-60. What’s the deal with that idea?
October 15, 2017 at 6:21 am #36077Wiley, Bandes rocked it at Johnson City this year. I really thought he might get moved up to State College since he was having such a great season. I was impressed with his performance when I’ve seen him play in person a couple of times. Per an internet article from last week, he’s gaining more experience playing in the Venezuelan League of Professional Baseball with the Magellan Navigators during our off season.

50. Julio Rodriguez – could have gone with another catcher -Lopez- but I have a gut feeling about Rodriguez.CariocaCardinal, your ranking and comment about these guys made me curious about the three because at least one of them is on my next round list, so I went back and check stats for this season so that I could be better informed. While they are at different levels in the organization they are about the same ages. I think your gut feeling has some justification.
Rodriquez @ 20 years old: .296 BA, 5 HR, 36 RBI, .443 SLG, .781 OPS
J. Lopez @ 21 years old: .285 BA, 5 HR, 27 RBI, .425 SLG, .773 OPS
D. Ortega @ 20 years old: .234 BA, 0 HR, 11 RBI, .234 SLG, ,597 OPSA trivia fact: Rodriquez and Ortega share the same birthday, June 11, 1997. Lopez is 21, born March 4, 1996.
October 15, 2017 at 12:40 pm #36096The thing that makes me think Rodriguez could end up better is that despite being about the same age this was only his second professional season.

October 16, 2017 at 10:32 am #36187PadsFS
ParticipantPlummer reminds me of a Reds outfielder, Phil Ervin. Ervin had similarly good plate discipline throughout the minors.
October 16, 2017 at 5:04 pm #3625746. Morales
47. Mayers
48. Lucas
49. Wick
50. Trey Nielsen – What happened to him? 1.65 ERA at Memphis, was sent back to Springfield, gave up 5 runs in a 7/31 outing and didn’t pitch after that. Injury of sorts I presume?October 16, 2017 at 5:30 pm #36259PadsFS
ParticipantBrian lists him as TI on the roster matrix:
8/10: OF Adolis Garcia from Mem to Spr. RHR Trey Nielsen to Sgf TI list. OF Vince Jackson from Peo to PB. PB IF Casey Turgeon released. 3B Evan Mendoza from SC to Peo. New organization total: 284 players.
TEMPORARY INACTIVE LIST- This list is used only during the season for short absences and may be used at the team’s discretion for bereavement leave, family events which require a player to be away from his team, or other non-injury related reasons.. Players placed on the temporary inactive list must remain on the list for a minimum of three consecutive days.

ParticipantFrom last round to this one, we are missing Mudville, SoonerinNC, desmetlax12, and David Greenwald to finish out the voting. David and Cards1776 said they were out after 50 though.
October 17, 2017 at 11:17 am #36313Pads, desmetlax posted his votes yesterday.
October 17, 2017 at 12:32 pm #36322I’m out
October 17, 2017 at 6:13 pm #36340Pads, I’ve thought more about it and have a few more guys to recommend, so I will stay in another round (or maybe two)…… if that is okay.
October 17, 2017 at 6:25 pm #36341David Greenwald
ParticipantI’m out – got too busy at work
