Mostly not on Mo’s watch, but it’s still not pretty.
The Angels are the only franchise to have never lost 100 games in a season.
They are currently 56-93.
They have to go 7-6 the rest of this season to keep that distinction. pic.twitter.com/Cr1i3K4ZtI

Tough call when you drop from a wild card last year to last place this year. Fire everyone and start over or try to build on something?

For those who missed the induction ceremony, our weekly StL Notebook on the home page includes a really good summary video.
In Albert Pujols' last MLB season, he had an .895 OPS, a 148 wRC+, and 24 HRs at age 42.
This year, there are only 4 MLB players who meet that criteria in at least 350 PAs!

I already know all there is to know about baseball and as such, I discard the mere suggestion that I could learn anything new from anyone.”
The #stlcards fell into fourth place as all four losses in the 2-4 week were by one run. Michael McGreevy posted a 2.19 ERA over two starts. A winninhg culture gives you a chance year in and year out.
By using the totally vague term “a chance”, this statement is meaningless. One could argue that every team has a chance, starting the season tied for first. What chance is meaningful and what chance is not can be defined in any way anyone wants and it could change many times over six months.
There there is the question of a chance at what? The last Wild Card or winning the World Series?
The #stlcards Triple-A Memphis Redbirds went 4-2 on the week. Lefty Pete Hansen had a 1.59 ERA over his last 11 1/3 innings with 14 strikeouts. Jimmy Crooks had a 1.046 OPS for the week. https://t.co/ukwh3KJTHW pic.twitter.com/VvC87UbcsS

I mentioned on another thread the upper levels could get filled up. Its an unfamiliar problem.
As far as I am concerned, all it means is that marginal players may get pushed off the back end. It is not as if every minor league roster has or will have 28-30 future MLB players each.
P.S. I find this suggestion especially odd coming from someone who doesn’t seem to think much of the current farm system because they haven’t won any MLB games yet.

The next MLB CBA will determine how 780 active roster spots are compensated.
Right now, only 168 of those 780 spots are occupied by players making $10M+.
• $30M+: 19 players
• $20M–$29.9M: 55 players
• $10M–$19.9M: 94 playersThat’s roughly 1 in 5 active MLB players making…

Another way of looking at it.
The Cubs currently have the 5th-largest delta between hitting and pitching WAR in MLB history, and no other team in the top 46 had lower than their 3.6 pitching WAR. pic.twitter.com/bv1TStMy2p

I didn’t realize this.
The 2026 Chicago Cubs are a fascinating experiment to see what happens if you are both the No. 1 batting and the No. 1 fielding team in MLB, but the No. 30 pitching staff.
