August 10, 2022 at 9:33 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 110 thread – Wednesday, August 10 at Rockies #194947Pinball machine out there in the RF corner.
August 10, 2022 at 9:24 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 110 thread – Wednesday, August 10 at Rockies #194943Quint’s working a nice game, but I’d have someone up at first sign of trouble.
August 10, 2022 at 9:18 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 110 thread – Wednesday, August 10 at Rockies #194940Yessiree! Tack on boys. Keep hanging ’em up on the board. No lead is safe.
August 10, 2022 at 9:16 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 110 thread – Wednesday, August 10 at Rockies #194939Thanks Pugs! I figured as much. If you ever want to see something interesting, take a look at Berra’s 1950 season. He K’d 12 times in 656 PA’s. That’s no typo…
August 10, 2022 at 9:12 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 110 thread – Wednesday, August 10 at Rockies #19493769 pitches thru 4 for the veteran lefty. Not at all too shabby. Nice work.
August 10, 2022 at 9:05 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 110 thread – Wednesday, August 10 at Rockies #194935I post his BA and he immediately taps out. I’m going to dummy up for a bit…
August 10, 2022 at 9:03 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 110 thread – Wednesday, August 10 at Rockies #194933The great Pujols is “up” to .237 with a 2 for 2 night thus far. That’s probably around the Big League avg. these days. Anyone have any idea what it actually is?
August 10, 2022 at 8:57 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 110 thread – Wednesday, August 10 at Rockies #194932Nice work so far by the 33 yr. old lefty.
August 10, 2022 at 8:50 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 110 thread – Wednesday, August 10 at Rockies #194930If Blackmon were ever traded to the Yankees, they’d have to allow him a week at the barbershop prior to reporting to the clubhouse.
August 10, 2022 at 8:46 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 110 thread – Wednesday, August 10 at Rockies #194929You don’t see a lot of stand up triples. That OF at Coors Field has almost as much area as the Russian Steppes.
August 10, 2022 at 8:40 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 110 thread – Wednesday, August 10 at Rockies #194927Ha ha…Nice! Thanks Pugs!
August 10, 2022 at 8:35 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 110 thread – Wednesday, August 10 at Rockies #194924Not entirely certain that Nado would have been able to score, but I sure would have liked to have seen him try and he probably would have been sent with 2 outs. I despise GRD’s that prevent the good guys from pushing a run across. I’ve thought for a long time that that rule should be amended to allow the umps to pass judgement on that play.
August 10, 2022 at 8:24 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 110 thread – Wednesday, August 10 at Rockies #194920I was wondering when Pugs was going to begin PBP for the good guys. I gave it a try last night, but I’m a two fingered typist and just couldn’t keep up as I was trying to type whilst breaking furniture as Colorado was hanging 9 runs on the board in the visitor half of the 3rd. I’ve simply lost a step or two since I’ve unlaced them and retired…
August 10, 2022 at 8:20 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 110 thread – Wednesday, August 10 at Rockies #194918I always thought Grich had a pretty quick bat. I’m sure their were others I’ve seen, but Sheffield got it started and through the zone as quick as anyone in recent memory. He was pretty good as was his 20 year old CYA winning uncle.
August 10, 2022 at 8:14 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 110 thread – Wednesday, August 10 at Rockies #194915HPU sqeezing the lefty a bit.
August 10, 2022 at 8:09 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 110 thread – Wednesday, August 10 at Rockies #194914I don’t quite understand why Pujols is manning up at 1B.
August 10, 2022 at 8:08 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 110 thread – Wednesday, August 10 at Rockies #194912I’m with you Bling. Go right after them and get the fellas back in the batter’s box to keep hanging runs on the board.
August 10, 2022 at 8:06 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 110 thread – Wednesday, August 10 at Rockies #194911Sure is a skinny gate count on here tonight. At any rate, nice start. GO REDBIRDS!
August 10, 2022 at 7:56 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 110 thread – Wednesday, August 10 at Rockies #194908Nice RBI rip for TO. Redbirds are hitting the baseball like they’re angry at it!
August 10, 2022 at 7:54 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 110 thread – Wednesday, August 10 at Rockies #194907They got it right. Nice RBI rip for the great Pujols!
August 10, 2022 at 7:50 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 110 thread – Wednesday, August 10 at Rockies #194905That baseball touched yellow in fair territory!
August 10, 2022 at 6:29 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 110 thread – Wednesday, August 10 at Rockies #194896Hey CIF…Ha Ha! Yeah, I’m not entirely certain that those straps loosen up too much between pitches. I think it may be more of a case in line with a sort of instinctive type ritualistic practice that some hitters are afflicted with. Certain hitters may be perfectly normal when going about their everyday life until they step into the batter’s box at which time they are instantly afflicted with obsessive compulsive disorder…As soon as the AB comes to an end, bingo…They return to normal!
August 10, 2022 at 6:11 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 110 thread – Wednesday, August 10 at Rockies #194893Although I’ll continue to maintain that Eddie belongs in the lead-off slot, I like tonight’s line-up card better than last night’s. But like always, the primary measure of success hinges on the performance of the guy who takes his turn in the rotation. I never make predictions, (especially about the future) but I certainly hope the lefty can find a way to somewhat duplicate the work he featured in his last turn.
GO REDBIRDS!
August 10, 2022 at 2:20 pm in reply to: 2022 Cardinals MLB Game 110 thread – Wednesday, August 10 at Rockies #194875Just saw the replay of Carpenter taking a foul ball off of his instep that resulted in a fractured left foot. You’d think that with all of the material and sportswear technology that someone could formulate a somewhat pliable, lightweight resin type protective insert that wouldn’t hinder an athletes ability to run or pivot and that could be comfortably inserted into the top of a pair of baseball cleats. I wore protective footwear for 30 years when I was working and by the time I retired I couldn’t tell the difference in weight or comfort between a pair of work boots that were equipped with foot protection and those that weren’t. They improved immensely over the years. At any rate, that had to hurt almost as much as the time poor Matt was victimized by Helton with the old hidden ball trick at 1B in ’13.
