We’ve had a good amount of crossover with the site vote now. Here are the guys who have been voted for by the site members, vs the official TCN ranking of Brian and Blake so far:

    Hernandez-Members 25, TCN 20
    Prieto-Members 19, TCN 21
    Svanson-Members 16, TCN 23
    Salas-Members 28, TCN 24
    Mejia-Members 24, TCN 25
    Henderson-Members 27, TCN 26
    Honeyman-Members 26, TCN 28
    Koperniak-Members 17, TCN 29
    Holiday-Members 21, TCN 30
    Gastelum-Members 22, TCN 31

The membership at large has been higher on guys like Svanson, Koperniak, Holiday and Gastelum. Thus far, the only significantly higher rating by the TCN rankings has been Hernandez, although even that is only 5 spots. That means that we should see the TCN rankings higher on a number of guys. I would think Cho and Roby might be two guys that Brian and Blake see more positively than the rest of us. Levenson at 27 will likely be out of the top 30 in the rank and file vote. Should be interesting to see.

The first hurdle for a player is establishing that he can physically play the game. I left Bedell off my list for that reason.

Is he still formally a prospect?

LouisEu, good question. I covered that in the article. Technically, he is not, but realistically, he is.

Yes, we want him to do poorly in the Texas League because apparently that will be a better predictor of his future success. Doing well is the kiss of death for a prospect.

I do hope he does well so Mo can add to his glorious history of success beaming guys up from AA.

I wonder if Hjerpe had TJ to fix his elbow this off season or if there is a year long lay off to do it still in his future. If the latter, he’s going to run out of time.

I don’t have him on my prospect list at all. The reason is that stuff doesn’t matter if throwing it blows out his arm. Said another way, only the stuff that his arm can tolerate matters. Can he be dominate or even effective if limited to that subset of stuff? We don’t know because he obviously hasn’t tried that. So we have no idea if he is actually a prospect in real life. Same can be said for Roby, who is also not on my reality based list for the same reason.
