Agree with Pugs. Herrera @ 3.
November 5, 2020 at 9:51 pm #146832Herrera is #3 for me as well. The Cards talked about him improving with the glove and we know his bat has been solid so far. I think he takes over as the full-time catcher by 2022 if Yadi isn’t back there still, and 2023 when Yadi retires. I’d even be willing to give him a shot next year if we are punting on the season.
November 5, 2020 at 11:06 pm #146833#3 Herrera.
November 6, 2020 at 7:13 am #146839bccran
ParticipantHerrera streaks out to a 4-0 lead so far for #3. The voting remains open.
November 6, 2020 at 8:35 am #146848I missed this somehow. I’ll vote Herrera at #3 as well.
November 6, 2020 at 10:37 am #146850#3 Ivan Herrera
November 6, 2020 at 10:40 am #146851bccran
ParticipantHerrera with 6-0 lead so far for #3.
November 6, 2020 at 5:53 pm #146872bccran
ParticipantNo votes in over 7 hours, and a commanding 6-0 lead for Herrera. Let’s declare him our #3 prospect. The voting is now open for #4.
November 6, 2020 at 6:27 pm #146874#4-Zack Thompson. The stuff is exciting and he got a bit of work in this summer. I think he’s got a ceiling of a #2-3 starter, so that’s enough to put him ahead of several other guys who I’ll be content to put in my top 10.

ParticipantLate to party but number 4 Johan Oviedo has looks of big strong front to middle of rotation starter.
November 6, 2020 at 10:06 pm #146885Two quality picks, Stlcard25 & UncleD. I’ve been mulling this #4 slot over for hours now. It’s close, but have to tip my cap in Zack Thompson’s direction.
Next batter up!
November 7, 2020 at 7:25 am #146887#4 for Montero
November 7, 2020 at 7:31 am #146889That 4th spot was a struggle this year. Ultimately going to go with Zach Thompson. He’s got the highest floor in my opinion. Great stuff (that Curveball!), but more of a mid to backend starter than top of the rotation potential to me. Still a great piece to have to slot into the back of the rotation, maybe as soon as this year. That arm has had a lot of rest since college. I imagine he’ll start out in AA after spring training, but I wouldn’t say AAA is out either since it sounds like he made some strides in the alternate camp.

ParticipantSome healthy competition so far in the early voting for our #4 prospect.
Thompson – 2
Oviedo – 1
Montero – 1November 7, 2020 at 7:37 am #146891bccran
ParticipantThank you for your vote, grenadier1.
It’s now –
Thompson – 3
Oviedo – 1
Montero – 1Still early in the voting.

ParticipantYep, Thompson for me.
November 7, 2020 at 12:38 pm #146917I think Montero has a higher ceiling than Thompson. Montero could become an impact bat. Thompson will become a steady contributor at the major league level, but I don’t see him as a impact pitcher. Montero for me @ 4.
November 7, 2020 at 4:13 pm #146935bccran
ParticipantIt’s now –
Thompson – 4
Montero – 2
Oviedo – 1Let’s keep the voting on #4 open until tomorrow at 6pm to get as many ballots in as possible.

Are Cabrera, Jun Fernandez Woodford and Sosa eligible?
November 8, 2020 at 6:58 am #146955bccran
ParticipantSooner –
Cabrera was in 1/3 of the games for the Cardinals in 2020 as a regular set up man, so he probably shouldn’t be eligible. Let’s keep Woodford, Fernandez, and Sosa on the eligible list for voting.November 8, 2020 at 8:43 am #14695914NyquisT
ParticipantLet’s avoid confusion now and go with bcc. Are there any other ineligibles?
November 8, 2020 at 9:31 am #146960bccran
ParticipantGood question, 14. Let’s see if any others should be ruled out besides the below 3.
Junior Fernandez pitched 3 innings for the Cards in 2020. Only 11.2 innings in 2019.
Woodford has only pitched 21 major league innings.
Sosa had 11 MLB ABs combined between 2018 and 2019. None in 2020.
November 8, 2020 at 9:32 am #146961bccran
ParticipantRuled out of being disqualified.
