6-2 now.
April 27, 2024 at 4:42 pm #249806Well, we get the strikeout on a wild pitch. 2nd and 3rd with one out. Top of the order and a base hit scores 2.
April 27, 2024 at 4:45 pm #249807And just like that, it’s a game again. Because of Arenado’s error.
April 27, 2024 at 4:45 pm #249808Lindor helps by swinging at a pitch in the dirt for strike three. The dangerous Alonso then jacks one to make it 6-4. Yikes!!
April 27, 2024 at 4:46 pm #249809We wouldn’t blow a 6 run lead would we??
April 27, 2024 at 4:47 pm #249810That brought life and then some back into the Mets. Ugh. This is now a ballgame again.
April 27, 2024 at 4:47 pm #249811Gray was at around 30 pitches through 3, 50 pitches through 4.
Now at 74 through 5.

jj-cf-stlParticipantGave them an extra out and they cashed in.
April 27, 2024 at 4:50 pm #249813I was concerned earlier that Gray just didn’t look quite as sharp today. Missing badly with quite a few pitches. He’s also had quite a few great pitches. But it’s been quite a mix of both.
April 27, 2024 at 4:53 pm #249814If Siani just hit .230, or got on base at a .320 clip he would be a valuable player. But he can’t even hit as good as Wainwright or Bob Gibson. Gibby was a pretty good hitter – probably would have been real good had he worked at it.
April 27, 2024 at 4:55 pm #249815Yeah, Sonny looks a little off as I mentioned before. I am not sure if he is a bit less than 100% or if it is just one of those days.
April 27, 2024 at 4:57 pm #249816Zack Thompson with 3 scoreless innings of Pallante in Memphis thus far.
April 27, 2024 at 4:59 pm #249817Need Sonny to cruise through an easy sixth here, then take our chances after that. Would be nice to tack on two as I get the sense the Mets will get to six in this one with our second tier bullpen having to work.

jj-cf-stlParticipantSurprise Willson, the rook has a changeup too.
April 27, 2024 at 5:03 pm #249819Liberatore loosening with no outs and no one on.
April 27, 2024 at 5:03 pm #249820Libby warming. I think he will be okay and get the job done, hopefully for two innings if not finish this one off.
Dang, another walk. Was ahead 1-2 and lost him. Not good.
April 27, 2024 at 5:04 pm #249821And Gray’s 3rd walk puts us in trouble.
April 27, 2024 at 5:06 pm #249822Sonny really laboring – pitches are all over the place.
April 27, 2024 at 5:07 pm #249823
jj-cf-stlParticipantMissing the mitt bad now
April 27, 2024 at 5:07 pm #249824Big out getting McNeil. Now we need the DP.
April 27, 2024 at 5:08 pm #249825And we get it!!!
April 27, 2024 at 5:09 pm #249826Yes! DP!
April 27, 2024 at 5:10 pm #249827
jj-cf-stlParticipantThat’s enough, thanks Sonny
April 27, 2024 at 5:10 pm #249828Big double play there. Gray wasn’t as sharp today and was missing his spots, but he battled very well and made it a competitive start. I’m really impressed with his pitches per inning even in a game without great command. He should be able to go 6 consistently with the way he has been pitching
April 27, 2024 at 5:12 pm #249829I’m sure that will be it for Gray. We could go with the same 3 as yesterday, but that would make them all likely unavailable for at least the next couple games. I think we need to try to just use 1 of them if possible. So that means Liberatore, Gallegos, or Fernandez over the next 2 and then Helsley in the 9th if needed.
