Ravy comes thru with a sizzling single to center! He squared it up a bit too much though as all aboard are only able to trek 90 feet apiece up the tracks due to the ball’s velocity…tie ballgame.
Thankfully Shildt realized it’s time to use somebody other than JMart in a key RH pinching hitting spot.

I really thought Fowler messed up his AB by taking the fat 0-1 pitch. Fortunately, he held off on the 0-2 pitch and got something decent on 1-2 for a base hit and 2 RBIs.
Where were these hits with RISP yesterday? Maybe Shildt was smart and decided to save them for today.
Edman, just being Edman, drills a base hit to center!….but Ravy abruptly slams on the brakes at 3rd….wow, I think he would have easily scored, but who am I to complain……bases once again choc full of Cardinals and once again Maddon will venture into his pen. Stay tuned.

you just cant come in and walk batters, our guys just aren’t focused enough when they come out of the pen. leone isn’t one of my favorites anyway. hes too up an ddown. now we have Fernandez making a wild pitch getting Rizzo to second. settle down Fernandez.
Geesh, the ball just rockets off Castellanos’ lumber…..and tons of money is going to be rocketing right back into his bank account come free agency this winter.
Fernandez does his job….he should have been the one starting out this inning instead of Leone….and it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure that one out.
nice pitching by Fernandez once he settled down. he has much better stuff than leone. like to see him be on the team right from start next year.
