The #stlcards ended John Brebbia's rehab with Memphis and optioned the right-handed reliever to the Triple-A club. The MLB DL is down to seven players, including four who are close to returning: Munoz, Wacha, Wainwright and Leone. The latter two will require 40-man roster moves.

As injured pitchers come back, I do not ever remember having so many quality choices in the bullpen. I know they have struggled lately, but I see most of their futures are very bright. Their should be no need to have a frazzled bullpen this September. Just make sure Cecil isn’t used.

I read somewhere Gallegos will get called up (was told after the title game last night)
Bowman may not survive the 40man, but i wouldn’t put it past him or the club to give him an invite to ST, and regardless it is good that he is healing
if it really all was to do with his fingers and he has that worked out, why woudlnt you want the guy that was so dependable and effective for us?
I think there is a decent chance that Bowman gets claimed on waivers if removed from the 40 man roster.
I agree with thejager. ‘Why wouldn’t you want that guy who was so dependable and effective for us?’ If there’s any way to protect him without losing a better player, they should.
