    Willy Con stirring it up.

Foul Territory on X: “”That’s the 24th time that they hit me in my career. They always say ‘I’m not trying to hit you.’ That gets old. So next time they hit me again, I’m going to take one of them out. That’s a message.” Willson Contreras didn’t hold back after being hit by a pitch against the https://t.co/ts0HAHEjiy” / X https://share.google/I1OFHEIsdZDSydkZl

I dont remember tom nieto. Though 84-85 was my first year of being in the marines so im sure there were a few players those years that i dont remember or even ever heard of if they werent regulars or played just a short time. Not too much older than me so a little disheartening

I’m a bit surprised you don’t remember him, Willie. Nieto appeared in more games and collected more PA’s than did Darell Porter during the Cardinal NL pennant winning ’85 season.

Sorry to hear about Tom Nieto passing away. That’s pretty young for these days. Remember him well. Like a lot of catchers he was sort of a “defense first” guy – platooned a lot against lefties. RIP Tom.

Dylan Carlson re-signed with the Cubs on a minor league contract. He’ll have to earn his way back onto the 40-man roster.

StL isn’t the only place where they play the contract. But the Nats are trying to insulate the damage caused when Mikolas pitches.

So, when he opted for free agency as a 5 service year guy, did Carlson screw himself out of the $2 million contract he became entitled to when his contract was selected out of camp? A side question, did Carlson get DFAd because they needed the 40 man slot or because he is out of options?
