Mikolas, Fedde and King sign for a total of 5.25mil this winter, after drawing over 25mil last season from Mo.

Oh, and we gave away Edman for a DFA. Surely that warrants a red jacket for Mozeliak.

Supposedly, BDW had his eyes on the road the whole ride down, and he is still in charge. The buck doesn’t stop with his baseball love child and the magic beans.

Mo’s legacy will be a lot like Bing Devine’s, and a lot of presidential administrations as well. A great first half run, and a not-so-good second half.

Devine sort of gets an asterisk for his lousy second tenure as Cardinal GM though, as the tempermental owner Gussie Busch had a lot of trouble adapting to the times and did not like the modern ballplayer’s efforts to speak up for themselves and seek a greater share of the wealth, not to mention changing styles and looks, like players with mustaches and beards. He told Devine to jettison guys if they got too rebellious in some way.

Surrounding yourself w/puppets after the baseball men were canned, and the exodus of them that followed, has had horrible results. Mo and Bill earned their results. Their way or the highway didn’t work, so now we have baseball men back in charge, of one of the worst budgets in the game. Lucky us.

Its going to be interesting seeing how Winquest does in MLB. I can’t understand protecting sore arm pitchers and 4As over him.
