Tony didn’t like him seeking outside help

TLR didn’t like Colby seeking that certain outside help. Maybe due as much to a clash of intransigent personalities as anything. After all, it is common for players to obtain outside help from clinics/gurus/coaches, and many due so every winter. Probably it was so back during the TLR era. But Colby made $50 Million so all’s well that end’s well.

Rivera is not a former Cardinal, but I wish he had been. I never knew this story until now.

Fantastic story. The world needs more Mariano Riveras.

Cory Rasmus’ daughter. Her grandfather (Tony) was quite the prolific poster in these waters when Colby was with the organization. We could be looking at the first woman MLB player here.

I think I saw where there is a woman pitching for a Div 1 school this year.

If Rivera has come up in the Cardinals system, I wonder how long he would have played here.

Former Cardinals minor leaguer Jack Ralston is being called up by the Marlins and former Cardinal John King is being DFA to clear the way.
Ralston has a 1.66 ERA in 59.2 innings with 11.4 K/9 but also 4.4 BB/9. BB were always the issue with with the Cardinals and the 4.4 is down quite a bit from where he ever was with the Cardinals.

Patrick Wisdom, who was in Triple-A, is back with Seattle.

In the two months since Chris Roycroft was traded to TB, he was up and down three times before he was DFAed yesterday.

In an oddity, Nelson Velazquez was DFAed by the Astros. He went through waivers unclaimed. Then the Astros re-signed him to an MLB contract.

I think Rasmus father was a major problem but I may be thinking of someone else

Dustin May lasted one pitch last night.

JJ Romero is still on the IL.

So far that trade is looking shaky for the Brewers.

Yikers! Looks like he got the wind knocked out of him. Yes, hope he quickly recovers.

Pham with nine lives. I am rooting for those Sox to win the ALC. Am glad they added a former Cardinal as that will keep me eyeing their scores and hoping they accomplish what would be quite a turn around.

    Saw this somewhere:

According to Bill Shaikin of The Los Angeles Times, Flores could leave the organization again this offseason, as he is currently a frontrunner for the Los Angeles Angels’ general manager post.

My prediction is Mo will stay on as PBO and bring on Flores as GM. Flores will become the new Girsch.

The Angels have a president (Molly Jolly), who was promoted into the job this April. She started with running the business side, but took on more. She hired Mo and he reports to her. His contract runs through December. Moreno could restructure and have two presidents, like the Cardinals, but that would mean Jolly would give up half her job and Mo would become her peer. Or Mo could stay on in an advisory role.

Their plan is to have the new GM in place by the end of the regular season but they apparently have not yet interviewed any candidates.

My speculation: We all know how tight-lipped Mo is. The chances of him hinting anything about Flores (or any other candidate) is almost zero. Because of their relationship and Flores’ background, it is “low hanging fruit” for him to be labeled the frontrunner. The reality is that no one seems to know any of the real candidates yet.

Former cardinal general manager Joe Mcdonald died yesterday i believe. The cardinals won the 82 title under him.
