Randall Grichuk has been traded to the Royals for Andrew Hoffman. Hoffman wasn’t even a top 30 prospect in the royals system. Seems like an odd deal but maybe they flip him again.

Great post, Mort! Yes, Kitty (Andrew Michael Kittredge) tossed the first cubbies immaculate inning ( not to be confused with the coveted “immaculate reception” ) since September 22nd, 2022. I wonder when and who authored the Redbirds last “immaculate inning”? Off the top of my head, I want to say it was Scipio Spinks. But maybe if nobody here knows, we should check with Skippy and all of the fine folks over at the esteemed Elias Sports Bureau. Kitty did get terribly roughed up the other night, but that occurs about as often as an official Dodo bird sighting. We should NEVER have let Kitty skip town!

Indeed Booyah. One might say that the “cat calls” were on full display the other night for Kitty. It won’t be long until Kitty has the Wrigley faithful eating out of the palm of his mitt. That’s funny! What’s almost as funny is that he’s had 2 winning seasons in his 13 year career and he’s still around. The Big Leagues seem to be loaded with players who are really lousy at what they do for a living. Fans actually pay exhorbitant prices to see shoddy and inferior performances featured by players who are all paid millions of dollars to go out there and underachieve. It’s really kind of an interesting phenomenon.

Regarding below average players in MLB, it has been that way since the beginning of time. For every above average one, there is the opposite. And it isn’t like there are deserving guys down in Triple-A being blocked by them.
