I doubt it was a mistake or it would have been corrected. Having said that, I do not have a good explanation other than if he was being outrighted, and that would be a tough card to deal to a guy who took COVID for the team.

Has anybody heard from Shildt? Is he doing okay?
The hosts of Power Alley on MLB Radio said that Shildt is scheduled to do an interview with them tomorrow. They did not give an expected time. I think their show runs from 10am to Noon (if I remember correctly).
8:39pm: The Cardinals have been cleared to travel and return to the field, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch tweets. They’re in line to resume their season Friday.
gsc…. you have my sympathy for your loss. Losing a best friend who is also a housemate is tough. There will be some emptiness in your life but hopefully you can get another friend soon.
It seems that the organization is more concerned about losing more players to C-19 than losing games when they start up again.
With two rotation spots open it would be nice to see PDL and Gomber get some innings. Maybe give Knizner some abs and see what Williams can do with the bat. The bp will be scrambled for a while.
Still trying to figure out where Ravelo disappeared to. Was he the original bug carrier as a result of breaking a protocol and has been released? Nothing in PD yet.
Boy take a look at the schedule and figure out the makeups for 7 games. If we have to make up in Milwaukee there is only one three game series left there so all three would have to be part of double headers as the Cards have no off days left by the time we reach that series. We do play them at Busch as the last 4 games of the season so I guess MLB could give them 3 game home team advantage then. Detroit – 4 games – I see no way to make that up short of going at the end of the season with two double headers in one city. Pitching is going to be paramount for the Cards. Mikolas is out, Martinez is on IL for a bit leaving PDL and Gomber or Kim as possible starters. This improvised season has turned into one mangled mess. And I don’t think it’s over yet for all MLB teams. Thankfully MLB has approved 28 players for the rest of the season.
MM3, that’s what I wondered too. Perhaps Ravelo did a big no no and got released. I hope not, though.
As far as the schedule goes, I think we just have to expect that some games will not be made up and win percentage is going to be the way things are decided. Surely more teams will have players who get COVID, and some may be Cards opponents.

Thanks for the kind words. We are kind of taking it one day at a time right now but hopefully brighter days are ahead.
Derrick Goold speculates that Ravelo will be placed on the IL soon. I am still not sure why they are delaying it though.
He also speculates that in addition to Brad Miller that Reyes, Cabrera, and Schrock will be added to the active roster. That would put them at 27 so they would need one more player, three more if the rosters stay at 30.

Oh goody, that leaves room for Carlson. I think I read that MLB is going to leave it at 28 for the rest of the season and the 30 ends tomorrow (end of two weeks).
Mo told the media on Zoom last night that the Cardinals were not able to IL Ravelo because doing so would’ve dropped the team below a roster minimum. Plan is to do so this week when recalls occur.

The rumors regarding the origin of the outbreak are just inconsequential noise, and they will be forgotten as soon as the Cardinals win a game.
Yes, this is a condensed season, but even so, it is still early and anything, including another World Series flag added to the plethora of World Series flags already proudly flying at Busch stadium, is still possible.
We took a left hook to the chin, but the ref did not stop the fight. Shildt did not throw in the white towel.
