From what I gather, many of you posters would like to see Burleson traded or sent down to AAA. Is that correct?

just b/c people refute your repetitive falsehoods with actual facts, doesn’t mean anyone wants him demoted or w/e. People want the Cards to win.

You’re trolling, and you wanted a response…I gave you that response. Enjoy. Stop Trolling

Shady, what I am reading is that people want to see Burleson improve. If he does, then maybe he can stick. If not, he will probably get sent down when everyone is healthy.

IMO, talking a lot about trades in or out doesn’t make much sense until summer. Also, there is no need to trade Burleson while he has minor league options. Depth is important as we are seeing already.

Posters, let the moderators moderate. Stop the squabbles now. I don’t want to read it.

Brian, some very good points. IMO, Burleson has shown some improvement with that .375 BA in spring training. As far as depth, Saggese should also provide that..

No squabbling, I was extremely professional and almost courteous…I left off the “please”.

Stop his repetitive trolling where he seeks conflict. This is what he wants. Call it out!!.

Again, let us moderate. If you can just keep your posts on baseball, everyone will appreciate it.

    Burleson was rushed to
the majors and now has an opportunity to really settle in. Hope he does. He and Gorman are the LH bats we’ve been looking for.

I have a hard time reconciling your claim that Burleson was “rushed.” One the one hand, you have repeatedly cited his 2022 AAA stats as evidence he is an outstanding hitter who had nothing left to prove at Memphis; then in the next breath, you say he was “rushed.”

Burleson was drafted in 2020, so he missed that summer of professional development. In 2021, his first year as a pro, he went from high A to
AA to AAA. In 2022, in only his second year, he was promoted to the majors after 107 AAA games. So his progression to the majors to me was pretty rushed.

Walker was drafted at the same time as Burly but is 3 1/2 years younger. The two have almost the same number of career minor league games played (228 vs. 230), but Burly has far more experience at Triple-A.

IMHO, Walker was rushed too. He only had 29 games at AAA.

Walker had zero games of AAA when he made his debut.

Yeah, those 29 games were played during a demotion in which he hit 37 pts. lower than during his 117 games in the Big Leagues.

Burleson totally Overmatched vs. Glasgow. Need better at bats from a DH. Weak.

I like Burly but a 14 page thread regarding a guy who would not even had been on the opening day roster if it weren’t for injuries is kind of amazing I must say.

BOCfan, need better ABs from LF, 2B, 3B, C, and RF too. Agree? By the way, Burleson hit one of the hardest balls of the game against Glasgow in his second AB. He didn’t look overmatched at all..

OP of this thread is about Burleson. Not those others guys. So you can’t attack other people for focusing on what you started the OP. Own up to it, don’t deflect…please. 🙂

Men, allow me to “bottom-line” this Alec Burleson thread.

We all love Burleson’s hitting potential. We were aroused by his AAA performance. Encouraged by his Spring Training dominance.

But, now the games are for real and he has to produce. He’s a slow and poor base runner and a defensive liability. So, he HAS to hit. So far in his MLB career he’s been a failure. Time for him to put up or shut up.

AdM, Burleson being a “failure” is a gross exaggeration.
