    Honorable Mention:

    Noah Mendlinger
    Juan Garcia
    Alan Reyes
    Yeferson Portolatin
    Chase Heath

Among the 746 Dominican Summer League batters with at least 50 plate appearances, Portolatin posted the highest walk rate at nearly 30%. So maybe he’s too passive; but maybe he has an unusually discerning eye at the dish. (Probably some of each.) The switch-hitting keystoner has an okay defensive rep, and he swiped 23 bases in 27 tries, in just 40 games played. His excellent OPS+ of 145 was second only to Sebastian Dos Santos among DSL Redbirds.

Backstop Chase Heath only got 58 trips to the plate after being drafted in the 20th round out of Central Mizzou — but he hit very, very well in those 58 PA’s, and very, very well in college, and very, very well in two tries against summer league competition. Fun fact: last two years of college, he homered 25 times with just 27 whiffs. Also, homered in 3 of his last 7 games for Palm Beach, all at Roger Dean Stadium. Real sleeper.

Another, for simply entertainment value, since we all hope for proper add ons in trades would be throwing out the new acquired names, one at a time? So starting around 2/1/26, where they would be placed on the list, people vote and rearrange the list before 3/25/26.

Just a random thought, but better than shoveling snow.

Remember that honorable mention votes are additive, meaning that each individual vote counts for one, whether they are your first or last pick. Each player voted for will slot into a pick.

Additionally, any trades added this week will be voted on after this round is over. Thanks for your participation!

Since I’m pretty sure I had the worst record of anyone in turning my picks into votes, all my honorable mentions are guys I had in my top 50:

    Royelny Strop (my #34)
    Mason Burns (my #40)
    Ty Van Dyke (my #42)
    Payton Graham (my #43)
    Branneli Franco (my #44)

Not sure this is the place for it, but thus far, Brian and Kyle have 5 in their top 50 who missed the community top 50:
    Clemente (their 41)
    Van Dyke (43)
    Campos (48)
    Miura (49)
    Burns (50)

I am curious which 5 on our list won’t make theirs. (I’m guessing it’s just 5 on their list not on ours. All of their 29-40 ranked players have made our top 50.) My bet:
    Love (our 49)
    Lucena (42)
    Winquest (40)
    Young (38)
    Rincon (36)

I’m betting they like Crossland and Honeyman more than Rincon and Young, but we’ll see! The double digit separations: We like Sequera, Molina, Gurevitch, Granillo, and Padillo by at least 10 spaces each more than do Brian and Kyle. Brian and Kyle like Elissalt and Holiday by at least 10 more paces than the community.

Swap my 5th pick for HM from Segura to Jalin Flores since I overlooked that Segura had been voted for already.

I also hate to do this, but…you voted for Flores in your first post with the 5th HM pick. You did mention Franco as your other Top 50 not voted for. Do you want him as your last HM?

A couple more days before we close voting. I want to make sure everyone has a shot to get their picks in, and give us more time to add anyone we trade for at the winter meetings.

Geesh…..Stlcard25 is more of a stickler than my 5th grade AT (Advanced Trigonometry) teacher, Mr. Simon Barnes……you can’t get away with anything when they’re on watch and in charge. Keep up the great work, Stlcard25!

You took Advanced Trig in 5th grade, Pugs? I’m gonna call that suspicious…haha.

At any rate, the Cards lost Cade Winquest in the rule 5, and gained Matt Pushard. He will be eligible for a rank after we finish our list up tomorrow. I will edit my list when voting for this round finishes tomorrow.

We have two more eligible prospects that been acquired since the beginning of our voting. A third player acquired, Richard Fitts, is not eligible due to too many MLB innings.

The two eligible players are Brandon Clarke, LHP and Matt Pushard, RHP.

How we will add them is as follows.

Please vote for each prospect as if you were slotting them into the TCN site list noted above (NOT your own personal list). Please vote for both players, with a “NR” or “Not Ranked” vote for a player if you would not vote them into the top 75 for the site. A vote should look like this:

Brandon Clarke – #X or NR
Matt Pushard – #x or NR

Vote tabulation will be on a majority consensus. So the place that a prospect gets the majority of their vote will be the place they end up. In case of a tie, they will be slotted in the later spot. For an example, if Clarke has 20 votes and 8 votes at one spot, 9 the next spot and 3 at the next spot, all in a row, he will be slotted into the 2nd slot. If Pushard gets 10 votes at a spot near the end of the list and 10 votes of NR, with he will be Not Ranked.

Voting will end on Tuesday, December 15th at noon CT/1 PM ET.

    Matthew Pushard – 35

This is difficult because there are guys who I want to put in front of both but they ended up further back in the list. And vice versa.
