jj-cf-stlParticipantPages D is good but he also sequences Leahy’s assortment very well. Vs 252 batters they allowed a .611 ops last season. Pozo/Leahy were at a .639 ops in 67 PA’s.
I’m curious as to how Oli “re-sets” his batteries. Gray/Mikolas/Fedde outta here needs new pairings.February 24, 2026 at 2:43 pm #301623
jj-cf-stlParticipantLooks like the current Pages, Pozo, Crooks rotation is rolling over.
Pages/Pallante battery today.February 24, 2026 at 3:12 pm #301624
jj-cf-stlParticipantThe Minors Gold Glove winner catching Pallante was/is an option i wouldn’t mind seeing.
February 24, 2026 at 4:32 pm #301625The Cardinals are so stacked at catcher it is really hard to believe.
Pages, Pozo, Crooks, Bernal, Rodriguez, etc…. and that isn’t even including Herrera.
The first two on that list are serviceable big leaguers although probably of the backup variety. The other three youngsters have legit talent and two of those three will probably end up involved in a major trade within the next two years.
February 24, 2026 at 4:53 pm #301626The Cards have 2 very good assets. Catching and left handed starters. Perhaps they can make an old fashioned deal of prospects for prospects. A catcher not named Rodriguez and one of our lefty starters for a right handed hitting outfield prospect. Maybe Bloom plans on dealing Nootbaar for outfield help?
February 24, 2026 at 5:18 pm #301628Kind of a rough first inning.
February 24, 2026 at 5:23 pm #301629I am not expecting much from Pallante. If he revert back to 2024 form, maybe. I believe he has options left and could be sent down to Memphis. I really bought they’d non tender him. But they don’t any prospects ready.
February 24, 2026 at 5:40 pm #301631Except for Liberatore and McGreevy we really don’t know how good anybody is going to be. Pallante could easily be in the top 5 on opening day.

jj-cf-stlParticipantScott applying the bunt successfully. He’d make a good Fernando Vina type pest.
February 24, 2026 at 7:01 pm #301635We have a Hence sighting!!
February 24, 2026 at 7:02 pm #301636A Packy Naughton sighting.
February 24, 2026 at 7:30 pm #301637I hope the Offense isn’t in mid-season form, I have the possible starters at something like 3-26 in the first 4 games with 1 extra base hit by Church. it is still early and all that but pretty anemic start to spring.
February 24, 2026 at 8:19 pm #301641I’m not concerned about Wetherholt making some errors early in spring. Scouting reports say he would be a 50 SS so probably a 55 2B. I remember in 24 when everyone was concerned about Masyn Winn’s defense because he made 18 errors. I wasn’t concerned about it as young players will make some mistakes and improve. The tools underneath like foot movement, being able to read the ball off the bat, and soft hands are what I care about more. Throwing errors are the easiest to clean up which is what Winn had a lot of his rookie year.
February 24, 2026 at 8:21 pm #30164227 really glad to see that Hence sighting. That means he is at least healthy enough to be pitching in games and hopefully he can make up for some lost time and start getting on track for a big league debut sometime this year albeit maybe in the pen
February 24, 2026 at 9:20 pm #301643Any idea when the full MiLB camp reports?

jj-cf-stlParticipantGorman and the hopefuls today, the travel squad. He’s the gate-keeper in the lineup that should stand out, among the many who want a/his 26man spot.
The Bernal/Fitts battery adds an offseason “acquisition” to the four spring starters so far.
February 25, 2026 at 1:44 pm #301702
jj-cf-stlParticipantYes Nolan, a 3-run oppo HR is “standing out”.
Do it again. Bwahaha!February 25, 2026 at 1:51 pm #301703Fitts throws harder than I thought. Maybe he can be an innings eater.
February 25, 2026 at 2:45 pm #301704Cijinte with a decent 2 innings, 2K’s 1 hit 1 walk
Yellow Ledbetter with 2 hits
Gastelum has looked pretty good in his 2 appearancesFebruary 25, 2026 at 4:01 pm #301710It is absolutely fascinating how the powers that be can find ways to sort things out this early in camp. Every player looks likes an emerging superstar at this stage of development. Fun to watch. Fun to see. The first cut has to be coming soon. That will make things a little more manageable. I wonder how many coaches, conditioners, trainers, evaluators, assistants, etc have their own personal sleeper that they’re keeping an eye on.
February 25, 2026 at 5:26 pm #301713Gastelum has looked pretty good in his 2 appearances.
He sure has, GG. I definitely look for Gassy to be heading north with the big club. He’s ready, willing and more than able.

ParticipantAnyone that watched game today. How did fits look. I know he gave up a couple hits over 2. For some reason, not sure why, but im very hopeful he can turn into something good for us.

stlcard25ParticipantQuinn Mathews with another wild start. A hit batter, two walks, a wild pitch, and a Soto double. He did pick Soto off 3rd base, so that’s something I guess.
