I agree. I don’t believe the Dodgers are ruining baseball. In fact, I think it’s great that they reinvest in their team based on how much they are making by winning.
The teams that are ruining baseball are the teams who don’t spend anything on building a contender, because they prioritize cash flow. Those teams should not be crying about the Dodgers spending, because they got $70 million extra last year for crying poor.
Of course they cry poor. And they’re happy to stay that way…If they don’t voluntarily remain below the poverty level they won’t receive any handouts. They’re perfectly content to remain unsuccessful in order to qualify for assistance at the expense of those who are genuinely exerting an effort to achieve a worthwhile goal. It’s another example of how baseball is a clear reflection of life.
