One of several things that impress me about the Dodgers is that I genuinely feel that they could win without Ohtani. Even without the presense of Godzilla, there’s offensive production throughout their lineup from top to bottom. And they have plenty of effective arms. Ohtani only logged 47 innings of work during the ’25 regular season. In any case, when you toss Ohtani onto their roster, it becomes a veritable mismatch. The Dodgers are, without question, a first rate baseball team without him.

Not that it’s a big deal but, best I can tell, there’s no ALCS action until tomorrow evening. I think BW made a simple mistake in a prior comment claiming that game 6 would be played tonight.
Of course, you are correct. For some reason, I have been thinking all day that this is Sunday, The reason may be that my college football team played on Friday night instead of Saturday.

Interesting view. The Cardinals are 20th in percent of revenue spent on player payroll. Well less than half.
Haha…I knew you just made a simple mistake, BW, but when I first saw it I said to myself, “Alright, there’s a game on today!” The reality is that when I double checked and saw that there was no post-season action until Sunday, I was really disappointed…I don’t know what I’m going to do when the final out of the WS is recorded. It seems like the older I get, the more I miss baseball during the long winters. I guess I miss the everyday routine that the baseball season affords and although I was once a huge fan of both the NFL and NBA, I just no longer hold any interest at all in either one of those two leagues. When the WS is over, I’m SOL when it comes to sports.
Toronto out to an early 2-0 lead due in large part to 2 Seattle “Das Boots” in the 2nd inning…It’s never a good idea to bring an oven mitt to a post-season game.
Seattle just had the bases loaded, one out, and Raleigh hitting.
He bounced into a 3-6-1 DP to end the threat.
And now a 5th inning solo tater from Vlad Jr. extends the Toronto lead to 5-0 and this ALCS is now looking like it’s going to take the full 7 games to settle up.
The Mariners push across 2 runs with 2 outs in the visitor half of the 6th with a solo tater from Naylor and an RBI base hit from Suarez to narrow the Blue Jay’s lead to 5-2. With 9 outs still in the bank Seattle gives themselves a bit of a chance if their BP can keep the Toronto bats quiet in the late innings.
I thought they said Dodger Stadium, Rat. I’m assuming that the Dodgers had a better regular season record than both Seattle and Toronto so no matter who advances from this ALCS will begin WS play on the road.
Edit; I was wrong, the Blue Jays had a better W/L record than the Dodgers.
I don’t know what they go by this season for HFA in the WS. Toronto had a better regular season record than LA, but all my sources say it’s predisposed that the WS will begin at Dodger Stadium. Anyone know why the Dodgers would enjoy HFA even if they play Toronto? They keep changing the criteria.
Seattle’s now down to their final 3 outs as this game enetrs the 9th inning with Toronto enoying a 6-2 lead. If the Mariners lose this game they can blame their oven mitts. No team is going to win a whole lot of games in which they commit 3 E’s.
Game 7 of the ALCS will get underway Monday night as the Blue Jays hang a 6-2 W up on the board in game 6.
When the ’25 regular season ended, my trusty baseball gypsy fortune telling tarot cards said a Dodgers/Mariners WS, Gamecard, but it’s now looking like Toronto has the edge with HFA for game 7 of the ALCS. We’ll see what happens tomorrow night when the 2 teams lace up their cleats for what I hope will be an epic one game battle for the AL pennant. I hope they engage in fierce hand to hand combat for 15 or 16 innings…Haha!
Yeah, I give the Jays the edge but am still pulling for the Mariners to get their first ever pennant.
But whoever wins in the AL it is cool that will be a team that has not represented the league much (or at all). In fact, just thought of this but these are the two 1977 AL expansion teams going at it.
I want a Dodger/Blue Jay WS.
You got it GameCard. Two straight years of seeing Eddie in the WS has to be amazingly wonderful for not only Eddie’s family, but also for the esteemed GameCard. It has to feel like you’re living the dream, GameCard.

“Willy Billiams” played the vast majority of his HOF calibre career manned up in LF at Wrigley, Pugs. While he occasionally played the other two OF positions, his primary position was in LF. But my overriding memory was that he could flat out hit and he seemed to always murder the Cardinals. He always seemed to do way more damage with the bat than either Banks or Santo. Even Gibson couldn’t seem to ever get him out in key situations. He was no joke with a bat in his hand.
Well, one game will decide the winner of the AL pennant and I’d have to say that the Blue Jays have just about everything falling in their favor. The Bieber/Kirby pitching matchup, momentum and HFA all give Toronto what I woudld term a tremendous advantage in this ALCS game 7. So, you know what that means? The Mariners will emerge victorious…Haha!
I’m not at all fan of that sac bunt in the 2nd inning of a tie game unless the hitter happens to be Rosie O’Donnell.
Bieber getting hit pretty hard in the visitor half of the 3rd inning but only surrendering 1 ER on the go ahead solo HR from Rodriguez.
