Bottom of 1. 6’0 215 lb. 28 year old righty Jonathan Patrick France dealing for Houston this evening. J.P. grew up in Louisiana and was a 14th round 2018 selection by Houston. Kyle Tucker on 3-2 lines a base hit to center and 2 more Astros will cross home plate making it 3-0 Houston. It appears Waino is long for not in this one.
Abreu doubles down the left field line and here comes one…..and here comes two more Astros runs…..5-0.
If its Yadi a few years ago behind the plate, that wayward curve doesn’t get loose and the guy who just scored doesn’t advance to second.
Diaz now doubles in another and the Astros have lifted off to an early 6-0 advantage. Waino is hitting the showers.
Enter Steven Matz who has kind of found his niche in his new role of pitching when there’s not a lot of adrenaline and stress pumping through everyone’s veins.

Matz’s low 90s stuff has got to be hard to catch up to for these Astros hitters after Adam goes through their lineup a couple times the first 2 innings.
Agree 1TD … I saw Gibson finish badly and hoped I would never see one of the Cardinal greats go through that again. Unfortunately, it appears that will not be the case.

Cards 0Another low in a season of lows. When a former star hangs in too long, it is always tough. I saw Steve Carlton dominate us in a shutout in 1972, and saw us knock him around in a game in 1985. The time in the sun is relatively short lived for sports greats.
Wow this is hard to watch. I know Wainwright wants to get to 200 wins but, damn.
If the season was going better they would almost have to sit him down but since it’s like the worst season in 50 years maybe they can keep running him out there…
If he keeps starting them I think that will be a sign that Bill and Mo have thrown in the towel on the season.
1964, the original dead arm diagnosis was more accurate, although it wasn’t the temporary kind of dead arm issue you usually hear about.
There’s absolutely no doubt Waino will get his 200 this year, TD. I expect him to start once more and then if he’s roughed up again, we’ll see him out of the pen where he will be put in positions to enter winnable games with limited exposure.
If he keeps starting them I think that will be a sign that Bill and Mo have thrown in the towel on the season.
Does that enter into it? I believe the way you need to think about this is does keeping Adam in the rotation generate more revenue than removing him.
