Have I ever mentioned I don’t like O’Neill? He may be a super nice and great person, but he’s not the type of player I want on my team.
DeJong has done a good job of hitting the fastball hard. That was another fastball in the zone and he hit it hard.
Yeah Cards667, O’Neill is tough to like. He goes into long cold spells, his body language often looks like he doesn’t care, and he swings and misses at sliders again and again and again. But maybe tonight he’s going to turn back the clock and look like confident Tyler from 2019.
We need a lineup of all Goldschmidt’s tonight! He’s going to be gunning for Mark Whiten’s Cardinals record.
2 singles, a double, and 2 homers through our first 3 innings. Pretty good. Too bad sequencing held us to just the 2 runs. Matz will just have to keep taking care of business.
All of our minor league clubs won today as well. Just laying the groundwork for the Senior Circuit guys.

I was sweating all the way until Burleson double checked his glove to make sure he had it. He makes it entertaining. 26-pitch inning for Matz and over 60 total now, so it looks like we’ll need 4 more innings tonight from the pen.
Euro, Matz gets ahead of lots of hitters. And then he throws pitch after pitch out of the zone hoping they’ll chase and they usually don’t and that runs up his pitch count.
This Giants team is terrible but at least there scrappy unlike the Cardinals who look listless outside of Goldschmidt
Matz 91 pitches thru 4….I would DFA him and eat the 11 mill a year to send a message and call up Liberatore
The last 2 or 3 years it seems like our pitching plan is to do a lot of nibbling after getting ahead in counts. That’s probably more a function of the strengths/weaknesses of the pitchers rather than adherence to an approach.
Matz’s troubles in the 4th actually hurt this time. Score tied 2-2. Offense needs get ’em right back.
Goldie slows down for only a double this time. Someone else besides him is going to have to earn a Paul batted in.
Did anyone else watching notice that whoever is in charge of flipping the number graphics that display the score on the TV screen changed the score from 2-1 to 2-2 way before SF had scored the second run after Wade’s lead-off HR in the 4th? I don’t know what exaclty happened, but whoever’s responsible jinxed us…
Arenado hit it hard at least. Far better than getting his 3rd K. Need Matz to get through another inning – unscathed this time.

Good grief. Even it works it’s not the right when we need to eat some innings.I wasn’t aware of it until this past Saturday, but SF likes to run. I watched them play a game vs. the Mets on Saturday afternoon and both teams attempted more theft than an Ocean’s 11 movie.
