It ain’t over yet ZTR. It’s just 3 runs. Although I will admit things looked a whole lot better 4 innings ago.

On the plus side, Goldie is running an OPS over 3.000 tonight

At least our players have quit making that ‘pepper grinding’ thing with their hands after every hit.

That type of stuff is for teams that win not last place teams that don’t do anything well.

Only a single this time for Big Paul.

Sigh. 2 on and no outs and we pop out and hit into another double play. 1 more chance in the 9th. Come on boys. Figure this curse out.

They need a big comeback or else the Cards will be all alone in last place – holding up the division.

The last time a Cards team was so awful, the GM got fired. I don’t think it will happen but it shouldn’t be out of question. Mo built this broken team and hand picked the manager after firing the previous one over “philosophical differences”.

It looked like Tyler could have caught that fly ball and had Wilson just leaned forward a bit he would have had him at the plate. Again, disappointing.

At this point it is amazing to already be 8 games out and in last place.

About the only thing we can change is the manager. Unless they are just going to give up on the season they gotta let Marmol go, get a fresh voice in the dugout and get back to playing basic fundamental baseball.

    Fire Marmol tonight.

This is beginning to take on the look of a seriously wounded animal that still has to struggle through 4 more games of carnivore infested territory before it can hope to reach the relative safety of it’s den. I hope it makes it back…

Ok. Now I’ve lost hope. You can all go back to bashing whom ever you want.

Down 7-2. This season sucks. Something just isn’t right with our team. Someone needs to be fired. Tonight, I’m taking one for the team. Sorry to be such a poor leader.

I’ll watch this one out til the end while you draw up the paperwork.

This is approaching dumpster fire territory. 10 games out would make it official.

    Marmol needs to go tonight.

Gotta try something because this team isn’t doing anything well and we know the players are better than this.

The Gods of Baseball have accepted my sacrifice and offered us up some hope with 2 walks and a double. 7-3

The Phillies showed Girardi the door on June 3rd of last season. Girardi had a few credentials as a field manager, one of which was managing the NY Yankees to a WS championship in ’09. He also managed the Marlins in ’06 and was named NL MOY that season. In any event, just as no lead is ever safe, a managerial job in the Big Leagues is not one that comes with any long term guarantees. No matter who you are.

And a walk brings the tying run to the plate. Big Paul.

I will be extremely disappointed if I wake up tomorrow morning and Marmol is still managing this team.

And of course this is the at bat he hits into another double play. Stupid GOB.

Maybe I’ll apply for my job back next season. . .

Who is the bench coach? Will they be the one to take over for Marmol or you think they let Stubby have a shot?

You tried your best, Jnevel. Sometimes the evil baseball gypsies are too pervasive to counteract. And right now, entire legions of them are on the attack. It’s probably going to take a decisive course of action to conjure up the strength of enough benevolent baseball gypsies to fight off this scourge and prevail . It’s my belief there’s still hope if we can somehow hold on until their arrival…

This team can turn it around but change must occur.

Tonight just adds another megaton of explosives the Redbirds are going to drop on the rest of MLB in September.

Jnevel, no firings tonight or even later this week. Mo implored the fans to have patience in an interview I saw because they are working hard to get things on track. He brought Motter back already, so you know he’s not messing around.
