Edman opens the game with ‘banned shift’ base hit. Love it……. good old baseball the way it was always intended to be played.

Gorman smoked that baseball past the 2B’man for his first hit of ST’ing. That play looked almost exactly like Gwynn’s hot smash that Sandberg wasn’t able to handle in game 5 of the ’84 NLCS.

Ollie may have over reacted but I wouldn’t bury the lead that Bucknor is a world class jerk. The fact that the other umps had to apologize to Ollie is telling.

I know a lot of posters on here would rather kiss Dusty Baker’s ring rather than defend Ollie but come on.

It was jerk move by Bucknor and Marmol had every right to be incensed however, in my view, he displayed a lack of good judgement by unwrapping his thoughts and displaying them to the media. It can only hurt his cause.

Looks like Gorman did level off his swing a bit, as rumored.

Let’s hope so, mudville. We should be reasonably certain by Memorial Day.

Hicks with the walks. The bum.

Hicks still cannot throw the ball over the plate. I hope and pray he is NOT on the major league roster.

And is this game on TV? And if so, do we have the same camera angle as yesterday where you couldn’t even see homeplate?

Yeah, same camera angle today, Rats. Probably why Hicks can’t find HP.

The customary camera angle will be introduced as a feature available with the premium subscription.

Cardinals win 6-2, evening their spring record at 1-1.

Reminder that lefties Connor Thomas and Matthew Liberatore are starting the next two games.

It ain’t the NFL, but if the point spread were 6, it’d been a push…

IMO, both of the hits given up by Wilking Rodriguez would have been outs if Nado was playing 3B. Keeping my fingers crossed that this turns out to be a rags-to -riches story for Rodriguez.

I think Marmol calling out Buckner works long term strategically. If there is bad blood better tô make it public. Buckner is possibly going tô make bad calls against the Cards because of whatever problem existe. Now he Will be under a microscope when calling Cards games and that make it harder tô be unfair.

CC, I had the same thought yesterday. Obviously Christopher Blake was going to be carrying a grudge anyway. Can he get any worse than worst? At least now, more eyes might be poised to report on his next round of nonsense.

I forgot Mautz existed. He didn’t play at all last year did he?

No, nor did Hjerpe, Hansen or Rajcic. In fact, I commented on that earlier on Twitter.

i hope they can move the camera up just about 6inches

that’s all i think it needs to see at least a sliver of the home plate

i have tried email people, btu nothing back

i dont have twitter so maybe someone could tweet at the announcers, or bally video crew, or STL stuff I dunno? I dont that service so i am not sure how easily it is to do all that?

They may not have a position to raise the camera to. It’s only a class A stadium at most. I haven’t watched spring training games in prior years to know if this angle is different from the past years.

Big bases clearing double for Carlson and the Cards are up 7-4.
