All the teams with the best regular season W/L records have 5 days before returning to action and I’d have to say that’s a disadvantage. I’m aware that it’s desirable to have a pitching staff that’s well rested, but baseball’s a game that’s played almost every day and I feel that more that a day or two in drydock so to speak, can not only throw off both timing and rhythm, but also place a damper on any perceived momentum. You’ve got to keep the fellas sharp and genuine game speed is best way to have the boys up on their toes.

Fist pitch delayed for a little over an hour because of the wet stuff, but we got action now. Should be a good day of baseball with four games today.

Orioles get the tying run aboard with no outs in the bottom of the 9th and lose the baserunner on an attempted SB. Bad decision.

Losing a division series game doesn’t sound so bad.

Haha! No, it sure doesn’t. No one on here for these games, Bling. I always thought Redbird fans were really good baseball fans. Maybe they’re just Cardinal fans and not fans of the game? In any case, I always enjoy the baseball post-season and maybe this year will provide a couple of hard fought series that include some genuine high stakes drama.

I’m definitely a Cardinals fan but not into watching other baseball games – not often anyway.

I love this stuff. High drama. Can’t wait for the Cardinals to get back.

Phillies are hot again in the post-season as they shutout the 104 win Braves in Atlanta.

If we would have signed Bryce Harper, how different things would be. Think about it.

Wow. Kershaws post season struggles continue. Knocked out in first with only qm1 out.

Dodgers have Freddy hitting second-just sayin!

Yeah, Kershaw absolutely whomped and stomped on as he only records 1 out and allows 6 ER’s before the TKO. His ’23 post-season ERA sits at 162.00…Brutal. These marginal WC teams are beating up on the big kids with the gaudy regular season W/L records.

They sure do, KCB, but the Dodgers have plenty of lumber up and down the line-up. In any event, I think Freddie’s the best hitter in either league. He’s headed for Cooperstown.

I agree Freddy’s best hitter in the league and Dodgers have plenty of thump. Maybe Cardinals not dumb with Goldy hitting 2nd? We know Oily isn’t writing the lineup card.

Braves and Orioles already losers and it sure looks like the Dodgers will follow suit. I read an item that said teams that lose the first game of a 5 game series lose that series a shade over 70% of the time.

Dodgers might come back. The rest are in trouble.

The Braves looked to be far and away the best team in either league this year. I’d like to see the O’s make a run at a WS appearance, but these WC teams are coming out of the gate looking pretty good. Things can change, but it’s nice to win the first of a best of 5. We’ll see what happens.

Wow, I tuned into the LAD game in the 3rd and saw Kershaw was gone in a 0-0 game. Injured maybe? So I did a quick MLB.com search and saw he got drilled for 6 runs in his shortest post-season start. Then I looked back at the TV and the thing that looked like a 0 to me was actually a 9. Kershaw and post-seasons are a crazy mix.

Montgomery going today for the Rangers.

Montgomery gets another postseason turn today. In his last 34 innings of work he’s only allowed 2 ER’s which translates into a 0.53 ERA. I’d say he’s shooting 7’s at the right time of the year. He’s going to collect the jackpot from the Irish lottery if he can sustain this type of run for a little longer.

    It was 2-0 Baltimore.

    Then it was 5-2 Texas.

    Now it’s 9-2 Texas in the 5th.

Might the Rangers be this year what the Phillies were last year?

Yeah, Montgomery probably has priced himself right out of the Cardinal’s range – if he had any interest in coming back.

I chose the O’s as the team I’d pull for during the post-season. Both the O’s and myself look to be in serious trouble…Haha!
