The answer to the second question is a guy who pitched in the Big Leagues for 27 years named Nolan Ryan. During that time, he “only” worked the pitcher’s mound for four teams. The New York Mets, California Angels, Houston Astros and the Texas Rangers, respectively.

I wouldn’t mind seeing this game being Waino’s last regular season performance. I think he needs the rest to be post season sharp.
Nolan Ryan! I think I speak for all in saying how in blazes did we not come up with that? You’d figure that question would have been right in Carioca’s wheelhouse.
I’ll be darned. I see the Astros/Rays on our TBS playing right now, but I’m pretty sure it’ll be blacked out once they switch to the Cardinals/Padres game. I’m on Bally and I don’t think they’ll allow TBS to steal any of their thunder in this area.
Bonus points for yours truly by commenting earlier that it had to be a pitcher. You know we have a lot of baseball afficionados on this site who never post. I bet a few of them were shaking their heads as how we guys couldn’t come up with Nolan Ryan. I would imagine that words like “clowns” and “baseball idiots” were swirling around in their minds.
Pugs…I didn’t realize it could be confusing with the Senators/Twins/Rangers thing until I posed the question, but I can certainly understand how that could throw someone off the right track. At any rate, prior to 1961, there were only 16 Big League teams.

Pugs…Haha! Some of these I come up with on my own, but most are taken from a pretty good baseball website. I try to choose the one’s that contain a name that most people know. At any rate, I’ve always enjoyed trivia related to the game.
Waino not off to a good start again. Walking guys in the first, just not waino. I’ve been one of his biggest fans but I’m hoping he calls it a career this year. Can he still pitch effectively, but I’d rather he go out still capable as opposed to going one season too far.

I remember Nate and I remember that Jack Murphy Stadium along with Busch Memorial being probably the two most difficult venues in the Big Leagues to tater-up in. Not many cheap ones hit in those two. When I think of howling winds, I think of The Stick up the road a ways.
I kept getting my mind thinking about the Padres and Twins when I was thinking of possible answers to the trivia question.
