That first inning changes quite a bit if the home plate ump calls that 3rd strike on Profar like it was. Also, if Arenado’s throw was better on the possible DP to get Machado at first, there are no runs.

    Clevinger’s last four games…3-1/3 innings, 5 ER…5 innings, 4 ER…5 innings, 6 ER…4 innings of no hit ball.

Tell that kid(Burleson) that you’ll take charge out there, Nooty.

Just tuned in. I see we’re still saving runs for the playoffs and Wainwright not having the best night.

Kim cranks one to left and just like that it’s 3-0 Pads in the bottom of the 3rd.

Welcome Euro! I didn’t think you’d wimp out for this one ……(cough cough……Wooster, Oliver and BicycleMike).

All 3 runs with 2 outs. Two on a hit that looked like a soft toss from a 4th grade schoolgirl, and one on a solo HR that quit the building pretty quick.

If the Redbirds could reach base, Clevinger won’t be able to jump around so much from the stretch. It’s beginning to annoy me.

You know what would be coolio tonight? If one of our long time lurkers would just say “what the heck….. I’m going to fire off a gosh darn post to these meatheads”. Albert lines a leadoff single in the 4th, followed up by a Burleson base hit to right and the Cards have a little something cooking……Yadi at the dish.

Wonder if there’s a problem with the site? I could not get on with my phone, but had no problem getting on other websites. So I grabbed my wife’s laptop (because it was nearby) and same thing. So then I went downstairs to get my laptop, and here I am.

I didn’t want to say keep it off the ground. I was afraid I’d jinx him…

Me too, Euro. If I turn my phone off for a minute and then restart it, it seems to solve the problem for that particular day here at The Cardinal Nation.

EuroDandy…I had a little trouble for a minute or two. Tried flipping the page and everything went south.

1td, regarding Yadi, maybe you need to take a page out of George Costanza’s book and start doing the opposite tonight.

This not being able to push any runs across is getting old in a hurry. Another GIDP or two, and the furniture’s going to be at risk…

Rat will not relax until the magic number is negative 12.

Would love to hear those Nate stories, Carter. How about at least one now?
OK Pug: It was after his rookie year in the Cards system. Had not seen him for some years. I told him I saw his stats in my little paperback stat book

“WOW! I want to see it”
So we go back to to my house to have a look. My grand mom was shocked to see me bringing in this hulking black man to sit on my bunk bed and peer over the book. I reassured her that he was Miss Colbert’s boy from church. He was miffed that the stats were not accurate.

I remember asking him who was the strongest player he ever saw (with Killebrew or Frank Thomas in mind) He said without a doubt it was Jim Wynne

    EDIT: I meant Frank Howard.

Funny Euro! Tonight Rat has been itching to say that our magic number is now 7.5 and heading upward. This Brewer loss is going to ruin his evening.

Great story, Carter! I’ve never had a ML ballplayer sitting with me on my bunk bed going over stats…..very cool. How about one more for old tyme sake, Carter?

Isn’t Jim Wynne the guy who invented LASIK surgery?

No the Russians invented the eyesight correction surgery, Euro. Jimmy Wynn was “The Toy Cannon” and boy could he tee off! Surprisingly, kind of a smaller fellow if I recall correctly. Amazing that Albert has to have twice the number of all time homers of a Jimmy Wynn.
