8-3 Birds as we head to inning #4. Let’s have Waino get his 5 innings in and then get him out of this game.
September 3, 2022 at 7:56 pm #198924This Leiter Jr. looks like a decent little pitcher. His father sure was a lights out hurler……or should I say “leits out”?
September 3, 2022 at 8:01 pm #198925Oh by the way, great old time pics that you post, Carter. I think I speak for all in saying they are very much appreciated.
September 3, 2022 at 8:03 pm #198926I thought Nooty could have caught that Happ fly ball to right.
September 3, 2022 at 8:06 pm #198927I do NOT want to see Waino in the 6th. 8-4 Cards as we mosey along to the bottom of the 5th.
Am I the only one alive and kicking here?
September 3, 2022 at 8:11 pm #198928Dom: LeGrand…Haha! So, you mean if the Redbird manager ever places them at both middle IF positions simultaneously it’ll be not at all unlike those two Eastern European beauties from Montenegro?
Who are the beauties of which you speak?
September 3, 2022 at 8:19 pm #198929Am I the only one alive and kicking here?
I got your back
September 3, 2022 at 8:22 pm #198930Yeah, looks like it’s just you and me, Carter. Can anyone think of two more able individuals to hold the fort down???
September 3, 2022 at 8:24 pm #198931Neil Pallante keeps the cubbies off the board in the 6th. Uelmen on for Chicago.
September 3, 2022 at 8:25 pm #198932Eddie with a leadoff double.
September 3, 2022 at 8:27 pm #198933Hope 1td didn’t miss the double. He’s been wanting more of those.
September 3, 2022 at 8:28 pm #198934Pugs, I can’t believe I missed Yadi stealing 3rd (I also missed Brummer stealing home)
But I DID get home in the 9th For Forsch’s first no-no
September 3, 2022 at 8:30 pm #198935Haha! Yeah TD not posting any words after an Eddie extra base hit tells us one definite thing, Euro…….. he’s kopping some zzzz’s on us.
September 3, 2022 at 8:31 pm #198936Big RBI sitting at 3B for Goldy to push across and extend the lead to where the GS won’t get you.
September 3, 2022 at 8:31 pm #198937Forsch had more than one no-no, Carter? Maybe you’re thinking of Bob & Ken combined no-no’s?
September 3, 2022 at 8:32 pm #198938Well, let’s see if Nado can push it across.
September 3, 2022 at 8:34 pm #198939Are you feeling alright, TD? We get worried when you don’t respond to an Eddie extra base hit.
September 3, 2022 at 8:38 pm #198940Wow just looked it up. Bob Forsch with two no-no’s and Ken Forsch with one no-no. No two ML brothers have tossed no-no’s besides the Forsch brothers…..not even the Niekro brothers or the Perry brothers……or even the Reuschel brothers.
September 3, 2022 at 8:39 pm #198941Jake Woodford on for St. Louis in the 7th.
September 3, 2022 at 8:47 pm #198942If Dizzy had known Paul was going to pitch a no-no in the 2nd game of a double header, he said he would’ve pitched a no-no in the first game instead of the 3-hitter. Now that would’ve been hard to top. If only Dizzy had known.
September 3, 2022 at 8:47 pm #198943Forsch had more than one no-no, Carter? Maybe you’re thinking of Bob & Ken combined no-no’s?
When will you learn not to question my encyclopedic Cardinal acumen, Pugsley?
September 3, 2022 at 8:48 pm #198944Pugs…Haha! Yeah, I’m okay. An old friend of mine called and we were talking on and on about about dental expenses and hearing aids…Really!
September 3, 2022 at 8:50 pm #198945Fun stuff, Euro…..will have to look that up
Sorry Carter….I certainly should have known who I was dealing with.
“Dental expenses and hearing aids”…… we’re getting old, TD. I swear every time when I look into a mirror, I see a 30 year old smiling back at me
September 3, 2022 at 8:53 pm #198946On the subject of no-hitters…With all of the records associated with a couple of Cardinals this season, I was thinking about all-time records that may never be broken. The single most difficult may very well be Johnny Vander Meer’s. I mean, I just can’t envision anyone ever tossing 3 no hitters in a row.
September 3, 2022 at 8:55 pm #198947Indeed TD. A record that almost tops DiMaggio’s 56 game hit streak in difficulty……you know, maybe the 3 consecutive no-no’s does top it.
