I get the feeling from watching the way that he works, that Montgomery will remain pretty healthy, Card4Ever. Mulder sure tweets a lot these days……I generally haven’t been reading them though.
Pugs…Oh. okay. That makes sense. I miss those old WGN and WTBS national broacasts. They were kind of the groundbreakers of everyday televised games back in the day and were sometimes the only way I could see the Cardinals on TV if they were playing the Cubs or Braves.
They sure were, TD. Steve and Harry were a perfect team in the booth. So very different talents, but oh so amusing.
Euro, I worked hard trying to throw the knuckler but it would only fly for about 30 feet. It wasn’t ’till I was about 30 before I found out you grip it with finger tips, not knuckles
Skip & Pete were good, but simply not in the same league as Harry & Steve, TD. Jack & Harry, Harry & Steve and Vin & anybody, were the 3 best broadcasting teams in the history of this great game.
Sampson now at 98 pitches with 2 out here in the 5th. I have to admit that back in the 1st inning, I never would have dreamed that Sampson would have survived 5 innings. He’s been quite good these last 4 frames. Still 2-0 Birds.
Harry Caray was always my favorite Redbird broadcaster. Probably because I cut my teeth listening to him. Jack Buck was the middle innings guy back then.

Pugs, not sure about Abernathy. I know he was a submariner. If he had an eephus, he had you from both directions.

Yep Carter, finger tips are key for the knuckler. Speaking of Niekro, I remember him saying an emery board/nail file was about the most important equipment he had.
Yeah, I think you’re right about Abernathy, Euro. There was a big time eephus hurler from that era, but can’t think of his name. It couldn’t have been Phil Regan was it?
Pugs…Most Redbird fans are wired with similar circuitry. The boards are sometimes a bit different, but the current flows in the same direction…
Oh oh…… Cubbies with runners on the corners with no outs here in the top of the 7th in a 3-0 St. Louis ballgame…..and that will do it for Montgomery.
I’m sorry, but Gorman is a liability at the plate, strikes out ay too much, and fielding not That great either
Have to agree with you, Cdj. It might not happen for him this year. It’s getting to the point where you really can’t keep trotting him out there. I think he’ll get it together next year though.
