Odor-izzi is the real deal. My better half remembers him pitching here for the Rays. An up and coming guy. On a lighter note can you imagine going through high school with that last name? Wow!

These Braves sure do spray the baseball all around the field.

Somehow I feel obligated to mention once again that the Braves pitcher is working on a no-hitter.

After 6 IP and not allowing a run, Wainwright’s ERA this season now at 2.99.

I guess Odorizzi’s low 90s 4-seamer is nearly impossible to hit.

Duely noted on the no-no, TD. Gotta love Wooster’s “no no-no” mantra tonight.

I don’t want to see any player other than Nooty manning right field for oh…..about the next decade.

LOL at that round tripper. It wasn’t a HR —— until it was. Nooooooooooooooot!!!

Nooty takes him deep to left! There goes the no-no…….and you’d be silly not to think Wooster’s “No no-no” rally cry didn’t play some part in breaking it up.

Donovan now spanks a base hit to left and Odorizzi is starting to stink up the place…..that was for you, Wooster.

Now Goldy singles to left and the Braves have Lee warming up out in the pen.

I don’t believe in coincidences, but Nootz looks a little like a young Wayne Nooton…Noooot!

Backs break when you string together 2 out RBI base hits.

This is right in line w Odorizzi’s numbers. 3rd time thru he gets blew up.

Now Arenado smokes an rbi liner to left and the wheels are starting to come off of Odorizzi…..now they’re completely off as he’s getting yanked.

I was typing out looks like Odorizzi is going to pass up his longest outing vs the Cardinals easily as he’s never made it more than 5 2/3. Ends up that’s all he makes it tonight ad Noot hit the HR.

Yes, Wooster, Odorizzi was pretty highly touted coming up with TB. Cardinals have been rumored to be in trade talks for him at least 3 different times I remember including this past trade deadline. When he’s been healthy he’s been solid, but never lived up to the hype as the big time starter, he’s also lost 3-4 MPH from what I remember him being in TB.

Haha, pretty good call on the young Wayne Newton. There is a resemblance. Gotta emphasize “young” though. Newton looks like a plastic disaster in his later years.

No way to know for sure, but that 10 pitch AB by Gorman that resulted in a K to end the 5th may have played a bit part in Odorizzi running out of steam in the 6th.

Great observation, TD! Matter of fact, he looks a lot like a young Wayne Newton. If Nooty takes some singing lessons from Waino, then we could potentially lose Nooty to Hollywood …….we can’t have that.

Yep and evidently Pugs agrees too. I even googled “young Wayne Newton” just to make sure your suggestion and my poor memory wasn’t biasing me. There is definitely a resemblance.

Might want to keep a close eye on Adam. He got hit pretty hard in the 6th.

Well, that’s settled…From now on it’s Wayne Nooton!
