I would have left Webb out there and let him work out of the leadoff double. After all it was Schildt doing the switch that put him on 2nd
Goldy is spoiling a lot of pitches, but most of them don’t seem to be in the zone. Finally Ks on another junkball out of the zone.
I think we have the formula to make some future games a 6 inning game with GG in the 7th, Reyes in the 8th, Hicks in the 9th.
Thats a winner!! One major difference in Reyes is his ability to come back after getting behind in the count.
Overall good game. Gant wavered but that inning where he got out of a bases loaded no out situation really turned him around. Gant really takes forever though. He is definitely one of those guys who would have a hard time with a pitch clock.
It’s always good to get a win!
Outfield tonight 2 for 14, HR, two runs, one RBI, five strikeouts. Hopefully the big fly gets Carlson going.
Pitching overall did its job but need the starters to go more than 4 innings.
