I didn’t think Gallegos was going to see any action tonight, Black hills. Yeah, Carlson may end up being just like Ryne Sandberg, in that both couldn’t hit a lick for the first month or so every year. Any guesses as to the over/under for Arenado’s first Redbird tater? Anyone know when we go play the Rockies on the road this year?

I’m going to go out on a limb and say April 3rd 🙂
April 7, 2021 at 3:16 am #157290Geesh, there you go…..I had forgot that he’d already homered. I can see I’m going to have to start getting into the swing of things.
April 7, 2021 at 4:23 am #157292The fill in guys at the bottom of the rotation really came through.
I heard Carp is trying to hit it to left, true?

ParticipantBB – yes, he is going to left, but seems to have lost some opposite field power. Long, high fly ball.
April 7, 2021 at 8:35 am #157307We are winning with pitching and defense, just like the past couple of years. It isn’t a bad formula really. I would rather win ugly than lose a high scoring game. Just get the W.
April 7, 2021 at 8:37 am #157309Pugs my thinking is Carlson will be less Sandburg and more Dejong. A homer a week and .230 in between.

ParticipantBoy, I hope not, BB. If a top 20 prospect in all the minor leagues can’t do better than that, there’s something wrong with the way they rate them. I’d expect more of a .270/.340/.460/.800 line. At least.
April 7, 2021 at 9:08 am #157313I hope so too cranny. But the large majority of the time .280 in the Texas League does not turn into that kind of MLB batting line.

ParticipantTrue, but look at his age in the Texas League compared to most of those he was playing against.
April 7, 2021 at 10:33 am #157322He does have time on his side.
April 7, 2021 at 10:47 am #157323A quick thought of someone who was a top 20 prospect who bombed was BJ Upton. He was rated as high as #2 in all of baseball. I know I could go through many years of top 20 lists and find players who bombed.
