ParticipantJoan bailed out by RA.
April 6, 2021 at 6:15 pm #157198Arenado’s defense will many runs this season. He looks so smooth, and has that cannon for an arm.
April 6, 2021 at 6:17 pm #157199I hope Carp plays very infrequently, and I would bat him 8th.

ParticipantWell alcantara is on a roll. It’s pretty unfair to give him those borderline pitches when he’s dealing this good.

ParticipantMan ted simmons is going to be at the ballpark Sunday. Would be great if there wasn’t covid going on, would have liked to shake his hand. Im a big fan.

ParticipantGant is getting tired it seems. No activity in bullpen but might should be.

ParticipantGant might get out of it yet.
April 6, 2021 at 6:48 pm #157206I hope Carp plays very infrequently, and I would bat him 8th.
I WOULD BAT HIM OVER THE HEAD AND DE WITT WITH HIM
April 6, 2021 at 6:51 pm #157207That was some big league pitching. Maybe the momentum we needed. I don’t think Alcantra will make many mistakes but maybe he’ll leave a hanger.

I agree Carter
April 6, 2021 at 7:01 pm #157209I’m hoping these starts by Ponce and Gant will be a little spark for Flash, Waino, and Cmart in there next starts.
April 6, 2021 at 7:04 pm #157210Gant is throwing well, but man, his games are going to be four hours long. Super slow with that set up from the stretch, and paaaausse, then pitch.
I would not have put Edman in right. Okay to give Carpenter a start, just to see, but still play your outfielders. Or like a poster said, maybe send Nogowski out for a start.
Also, get Knizner in there in the next day or two.
April 6, 2021 at 7:15 pm #157211Unless Gants spot comes up this inning, I see him coming out to start the 5th.
April 6, 2021 at 7:16 pm #157212Need to be more First pitch aggressive
April 6, 2021 at 7:20 pm #157215O’Neill is that typical power hitter in a slump. Always looking for that ball to hit out of the stadium to break the slump. It’s not working
April 6, 2021 at 7:22 pm #157216You have to tip your cap to Alcantara so far. He looks very improved, and always had great stuff.
April 6, 2021 at 7:25 pm #157218Where’s Pugs at tonight?
April 6, 2021 at 7:25 pm #157219I agree 27. I’m hoping we can keep it close and maybe get into their bullpen and come up with a late rally.

I hope not, David (my heart)
April 6, 2021 at 7:31 pm #157224Who is this Cooper? He is a walk machine tonight.
April 6, 2021 at 7:35 pm #157225Need another twin killing.

CarolinaCardinalParticipantWaved the white flag when we brought in Helsley
April 6, 2021 at 7:37 pm #157227In a 1-0 game with a lot of bullpen use so far, I would have left Gant in there to hit.
Now Helsley looks like he is going to contribute to the Marlins blowing it open. But who knows, maybe we will see a 4-6-3.
April 6, 2021 at 7:39 pm #157229They always say walk come back to kill you, and this is proof number 500,001.
April 6, 2021 at 7:42 pm #157230Helsley sporting a nifty 22.50 ERA right now. Carlson hitting something like .067. But hey, it’s early.
We are 2-2 with lousy offense, lousy defense, and not very good pitching so far. Guys will hit more than they have so far. The bigger question is, will the pitching be good enough to stay near the top of the division?
