This umpire has really gotten worse the longer the game goes. I didn’t mind when alcantara was close but when you are calling pitches 6 inches off the plate a strike, it’s rediculous.
That’s some 80’s Cardinals ball. 3 runs and only one ball left the infield. Memories of Coleman, Smith, and McGee come to mind.

Alcantara fell behind Carp and thus the IBB, with a hope of the DP with Molina hitting. The problem then was the first pitch to Yadi was up in the zone.

I’ve been thinking the same thing. He hasn’t looked very good so far.
The Cards could evolve to where they have Gallegos, Hicks and Reyes as shut down 7-8 and 9th inning guys. Sort of like the Royals had back when they went to the World Series a couple of years in a row. Who was it, Holland and Davis and some other guy.
