It would be a great time for an Arenado bomb.

ParticipantThis umpire has really gotten worse the longer the game goes. I didn’t mind when alcantara was close but when you are calling pitches 6 inches off the plate a strike, it’s rediculous.
April 6, 2021 at 7:52 pm #157233This is a golden opportunity, bases are juiced for Dejong.
April 6, 2021 at 7:52 pm #157234DeJong simply has to ONLY swing at strikes here. Don’t go after anything out of the zone.
April 6, 2021 at 7:55 pm #157235There you go – did not get a hit, but put the ball in play. Good AB by DeJong!
April 6, 2021 at 7:55 pm #157236Unfortunately we have K-arpenter up now.
April 6, 2021 at 7:58 pm #157237Got the run got the lead. Let’s extend it here with a big 2 out hit from O’Neill
April 6, 2021 at 7:58 pm #157238Thank you Marlins for walking Carp, Molina puts us ahead 3-2.

stlcard25ParticipantAlcantara must have been scared of Carp, as he intentionally walked him go get to Yadi.

ParticipantWell way to fight back. Can the pen hold it.
April 6, 2021 at 8:01 pm #157241That’s some 80’s Cardinals ball. 3 runs and only one ball left the infield. Memories of Coleman, Smith, and McGee come to mind.
April 6, 2021 at 8:02 pm #157242I sure love having Goldschmidt followed by Arenado. That surely puts a ton of pressure on any pitcher.
April 6, 2021 at 8:04 pm #157243I sure love having Goldschmidt followed by Arenado. That surely puts a ton of pressure on any pitcher.
And if DeJong can find his groove.. that would be a lethal 1-2-3 with Edman setting it all up.

marlin’s skipper needs to be fired 🙂
April 6, 2021 at 8:17 pm #157245Alcantara fell behind Carp and thus the IBB, with a hope of the DP with Molina hitting. The problem then was the first pitch to Yadi was up in the zone.
Man, Carlson is really struggling, same as last year.
April 6, 2021 at 8:20 pm #157246Nogowski takes great at bats.
April 6, 2021 at 8:26 pm #157247Wow Gallegos is in. Hope he has a rubber arm.

I’ve been thinking the same thing. He hasn’t looked very good so far.
April 6, 2021 at 8:34 pm #157250
stlcard25ParticipantBoy, was Gallegos good there. All three Ks were looking.
April 6, 2021 at 8:34 pm #157251Gallegos was dynamite.
April 6, 2021 at 8:35 pm #157252A run or 2 would be some good insurance.
April 6, 2021 at 8:35 pm #157253They should start Nogowski tomorrow, and give O’Neil or Carlson the day off.
April 6, 2021 at 8:36 pm #157254The Cards could evolve to where they have Gallegos, Hicks and Reyes as shut down 7-8 and 9th inning guys. Sort of like the Royals had back when they went to the World Series a couple of years in a row. Who was it, Holland and Davis and some other guy.
April 6, 2021 at 8:38 pm #157255This Garcia has pretty good numbers, but he does give up some long balls.
April 6, 2021 at 8:43 pm #157256The Cards should have a tremendous bullpen. And this isn’t including Whitley, Oviedo, or Rondon, rtc, whom we will likely see by years end.
