Matheny shows some nads throwing Holland straight into the fire.
June 19, 2018 at 8:46 pm #57283Holland shouldn’t disappoint in this spot.
June 19, 2018 at 8:46 pm #57284
stlcard25ParticipantHolland rewards Matheny’s confidence with a good inning to preserve the lead.
June 19, 2018 at 8:47 pm #57285Lol! It’s a miracle!
Watch Matheny trot him out in some high leverage situation and have him get lit up. I still don’t trust him.
June 19, 2018 at 8:48 pm #57286CC: nads if it works (and it did), and after effects of the lobotomy if it hadn’t worked.
June 19, 2018 at 8:49 pm #57287
stlcard25ParticipantGood defensive play by the Phillies SS but if it was anyone but Molina running, he’s probably safe.
June 19, 2018 at 8:50 pm #57288So I guess we have Hicks and Norris available tonight to hopefully put the lid on this?
June 19, 2018 at 8:52 pm #57289
stlcard25ParticipantIs McCarver really saying that Holland is the best option to win right now? Lol
June 19, 2018 at 8:56 pm #57291
stlcard25ParticipantGomber in and looking good. He hit 95-96 in that at bat.
June 19, 2018 at 8:58 pm #57292
stlcard25ParticipantCourse he walked the next guy. Tying run is on and it’s time for Austin to buckle down, Weaver style.
June 19, 2018 at 9:01 pm #57293
stlcard25ParticipantPop up and a single and now Hoskins is up. Dangerous hitter here, even though he’s not been nearly as good this year as last.
June 19, 2018 at 9:02 pm #57295
stlcard25ParticipantHicks is coming in, and Bader as well.
June 19, 2018 at 9:07 pm #57297
stlcard25ParticipantTie game on the opposite field drive. Can’t just come easy for this team, can it?
June 19, 2018 at 9:10 pm #57298Hicks location got him on the 1-2 pitch to Hoskins. It was center cut.
June 19, 2018 at 9:15 pm #57299Hoo boy, another “exciting” game…
June 19, 2018 at 9:16 pm #57300
stlcard25ParticipantMarp doesn’t want to let Pham get the upper hand in team HR…7-6 Cards.
June 19, 2018 at 9:20 pm #57301We’ve gotten some timely hits the last two games. It’d be a shame to lose both. Hicks staying in for the 9th, and he gets the first batter out.
June 19, 2018 at 9:24 pm #57303I had forgotten than Norris pitched the previous two games. Hick with the save, though, looking good in the 9th.
June 19, 2018 at 9:25 pm #57304
stlcard25ParticipantHicks finishes it off. Good to get the win there.
June 19, 2018 at 9:26 pm #57305This time, the Cards come out on top, 7-6, due to Matt Carpenter’s ninth inning solo home run. St. Louis ties the series at 1-1 and moved to 38-33 on the season.
June 19, 2018 at 9:29 pm #57306It was not pretty, but a win is a win. One to the next one.
June 19, 2018 at 9:30 pm #57307Pretty gutsy win. Very fun to watch and a little payback for not getting the win last night.
Kudos to MM for going with Holland and Holandnfor stepping up
Go figure that Hicks and Gomber would be the ones to make it tighter and give up the runs after their recent strong play. But that’s baseball
Day game tomorrow should be fun. Especially with the World Cup matches tomorrow being boring
Go Cards!
June 19, 2018 at 9:32 pm #57308Nice comeback.Holland with a good inning.Not pretty but a win is a win.
June 19, 2018 at 10:04 pm #57310Nice win! We could’ve had em both but we go for the series win against Jake Arietta tomorrow.
June 19, 2018 at 10:05 pm #57311I know one fellow who will sleep like a baby tonight……Gregory Scott Holland. Let’s hope Greg will put that quality rest to good use and utilize this nice outing as a springboard for good things to come. Sometimes that’s all it takes….that one good outing. Plenty of game balls to toss around after this nice win….. Carp…Martinez….Pham….Holland & Hicks….stlcard25 for some super nice calls on what’s going on out on the field….the esteemed TexasCard, Booyah, Jags and BW for throwing their quality 2 cents in……and of course Euro….for being Euro. 7-6 Birds your happy final from the city of brotherly love.
