Weaver bears down after the trouble and gets out without major damage. Still need to score here, Cards.
Weaver weaves a little magic here by only giving up the single tally after wearily weaving back and forth on the ropes for a couple at bats…3-1 Philadelphia moving to the 5th.
He got on all right, stlcard25! And Weaver really put a charge into one, but the center fielder manages to track it down.
The Cards are barreling Velasquez. Even Weaver made good contact…he won’t last much longer if those balls start finding holes in the fielders.
Right you are, stlcard25! Velasquez is a wearing down. We should be primed to get him in the 6th….but now Francisco gets his teeth into a Weaver offering and sends in deep to right….and out of here!! Back to a 2 run Phils lead with no outs here in the 5th.
He should’ve been removed after the 4th. Now he gives up a homer and then an infield single to start the 5th.
Luke coughs up another dinger, and the deficit goes back to 2. Do we have a Tantalus-style game going on here tonight??
Munoz boots a Routine…with a capital “R” grounder and now the table is really set for a big Phillie inning as they have runners on 1st and 2nd with nobody out.
We have guys falling down and not catching grounders all over this field! Wonder if they have some guy hidden away up in the rafters momentarily blinding our fielders with one of those laser guns! Never know….let us not forget which city we are in.
Carp delivers the game tying double in the 7th. Nice job of fighting back again…but, need to win this one.
Carpenter with a huge 2 out double to make it 4-4. Just think it could’ve been more if Fowler wasn’t striking out on a 93 mph heater he can’t get around on any longer.
As always Pugs, you are money on calling these things. I’m kind of a stat guy, and over the years I’ve tracked your accuracy on these things to be 99.27%
