AdM, my suggestion is “interim” manager for Clapp for the rest of the season. See how that goes. Then maybe open it up to outside candidates after the season.

Clapp should get his long overdue chance to manage the Cardinals. At least on an interim basis. The team seems to need an emotional spark. Stubby might be able to provide that.

After last season, there is no way Marmol should have been extended. Without an extension, he should have got until the All Star break to turn things around. If the same “shit show” as last season persisted, give Stubby Clapp a chance the rest of the season as the interim manager. Some things, just make too much sense for this Cardinals management to actually do. With Clapp’s fabulous resume’ as manager at AAA Memphis, he should have got the chance to manage the Cardinals a long time ago.

Somewhere along the line, Stubby Clapp should have been given the chance to manage the Cardinals. Even as an interim manager to get a feel for what he could do. Clapp did an amazing job managing at AAA.
