And that Manny delivers the 2 out RBI base hit to make it 2-0 Padres. Every team needs at least one Manny. I wish we had one of them Mannys…
Padres get a run, but Tatis is going to have to do better than a little GB RBI out if SD is going to make this NLDS competitive. Here comes one of those Mannys…
Yeah, I want my CF’er to rip the baseball like Willie Mays, Pugs…Or, at least like Jimmy Edmonds.
The CG shutout that he worked was against SD, so it makes sense to hand him the baseball and give him the turn for this game 3, Pugs.
Yamamoto is now 8-1 to go along with an ERA of 2.14 when he goes to work in the post-season. He may enter Gibson and Koufax territory before the final out of the ’26 WS.
Outstanding play from Betts and Big Freddie for the final out and a 3-1 Dodger W. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw a pitcher with an ERA well North of 8.00 get the baseball for the 9th. Roberts must be drunk…
Roberts installs Little Eddie to shore up the Dodger D for the final 2 innings. If he wouldn’t have, I’d have made him submit to a drug screening test…
Lee with a 1-2-3 inning on only 9 pitches as we head to the home half of the 7th.
If I’m Roberts, Yamamoto’s pitch count is 170…
Braves place 2 baserunners aboard with 0 outs, but Yamamoto does what he does and makes pitches when he has to and escapes the 5th still holding a 3-1 lead. I’ve watched him quite a bit and when he’s afforded a few runs, he really goes to work and protects a lead as if he were protecting his favorite Geisha girl.
Dubon with an outstanding play in LF that probably saved 2 runs.
We’re through 2 innings and the scorecard reads 10 K’s…Might be a difficult day to be holding a bat.
Deuces wild across the board.
Yamamoto’s forkball is as devastating as Sutter’s. It ain’t fair
I can’t remember how many times the silly new rule allows a pitcher to throw over to 1B. Anyone know?
Edit…I looked it up. Rickey and Lou would have pilfered 200 a season…

Sale’s now recorded 5 outs via 5 K’s. This game could be Carpenter/Hallady redux.
Yamamoto has complete command of more pitches than there are warships in the Japanese Imperial Navy.
Dodgers threaten with baserunners aboard at 1B and 2B and 1 out, but Sale K’s Freeman, Smith and Ohtani to escape the 1st inning unscathed. You won’t find Chris Sale in the bargain aisle.
In 9 post-season turns and 56 innings of work, Yamamoto’s 7-1 with an ERA of 2.25, which places him right up there with Bumgarner, Carpenter, Schilling and Smoltz as one of the best high stakes pitchers of the last 30 years. However, in his 3 career NLDS turns, he’s 1-1 with a way less than spectacular 6.00 ERA. He’ll have a worthy pitching counterpart competing on behalf of the Braves in the form of Chris Sale, so the Dodgers would be well advised to suit up and be ready to play baseball in front of what should be an enthusiastic and hostile Braves faithful in ATL. In any case, you couldn’t hardly do any better than a L/R, Sale/Yamamoto pitching matchup if you enjoy watching two pitchers that are thoroughly well practiced and proficient in the fine art of working off of a Big League pitcher’s mound and consistently recording outs. Now that I’ve said that, we’ll see a final score on the order of 12-9…
I’m guessing that the TV networks aren’t happy about the possibility of three broom jobs.
They also have the daunting task of having to win 3 consecutive post-season games if they’re to advance to the ALCS.
Yeah, Pugs…”Green ain’t mean compared to RED”…Haha!
I knew that Raffy Furcal held the player record for E’s in a post-season game with 3 in the same inning, but had to look up team E’s and the source told me the record is a total of 6 Das Boots by the Dodgers in game 2 of the ’66 WS. According to that same source, Willie Davis shares the record with Furcal as he is also purported to have been charged with 3 E’s in that same ’66 WS game 2. The source also say all 3 of Willie’s Das Boots came in the same inning. I wasn’t aware of the Davis E’s, but I knew that he was awarded several GG’s while playing CF. In regards to Raffy, I’ll maintain that the Cardinals don’t win anything in ’11 without snagging him from the Dodgers in July of that memorable season.

And Palacios rips this game open with the 2 out, 2 RBI base hit to make it 5-1 Rays in the home half of the 5th. You saw that coming.
Palacious is getting too many looks.
