Tailor-made 4-5 DP to get out of the jam.

We have to score a half dozen this inning with Gallegos lurking in the BP…Make that a lucky 7.

I guess I’ve missed a lot Gio adventures this year.

    Well Brian,

    Two things:
    1) The analytics people have been telling us for the last 20+ years that bunting is a wasted out, and what is the plan with Siani hitting behind Pages? What did they accomplish by moving the runner over 90′ to let a guy with a .578 OPS swing away? That makes the move even more stupid.
    2) From jnevel’s post earlier in this thread:

Fun stat. Burleson is #2 on the team in “high leverage” situations with a WRC+ of 247. But that’s not even close to first. Pages is at 357.

Yeah. Not setup well for us. Unless Helsley goes 2, it’s got to be GG.

Another break for us with the passed ball. But our rally killer ensures we kill it.

These guys need to hit the slots. It’s their lucky night. Hope it hold up.

Slick play by Abrams. Now who’s in? Gallegos?? Seems like everyone else is pretty well spent.

Wow – surprised we would use Helsley in two innings.

If it gets tied again, we may eventually see Winn pitch.

Uh oh…Helsley’s arm could fall off.

Another break with the pop out. How about a K Ryan?

Don’t worry 1TD, he picked it up off the foul line on his way back onto the field.

Well, we won the game, but Helsley’s probably done for the season…Haha!

Helsley’s got two arms, what’s the big deal? So he gets a blown save and a win.

The available bullpen listed for tomorrow are former pitchers Winn and Burleson along with Pugs and I in mop up roles.

Yeah, both of these team’s premier closers get tagged with a blown save tonight, but I’ll take our blown save over their blown save.

That was a pretty doggone good game. What’s even beter is that the Redbirds are now 5 above sea level. Time to shoot for 10.

All these long games are draining the pen, but if we keep winning all will be fine. Nice comeback from 5 down to go to 5 games over .500

Funny, in the talk after the Pirate game of why you don’t just let a run score, I gave an example of a line drive on the infield and doubling the guy off third. A rare play, but it can happen. And here we are, the next night and it happened!! 🤪
