Good call Bling.
July 5, 2024 at 6:13 pm #259130Haha…”Doris Murphy”…What about Zsa Zsa?
July 5, 2024 at 6:14 pm #259131Gray really struggling with control in the 1st and Washington is laying off everything close.
July 5, 2024 at 6:15 pm #259132We finally caught someone on a SB attempt…”I don’t believe what I just saw!”
July 5, 2024 at 6:23 pm #259133We finally caught someone on a SB attempt
If you throw enough blind squirrels against the wall, one will stick.
July 5, 2024 at 6:26 pm #259135We got one last night too TD. Or the night before last. I know Pages has thrown a few out on the year.
July 5, 2024 at 6:28 pm #259136Gray has been terrible his last 2 starts
July 5, 2024 at 6:28 pm #259137Gray is going to burn through his pitch count by the 3rd inning.
July 5, 2024 at 6:31 pm #259138Herrera has begun his rehab stint, so there will soon be less of that.
July 5, 2024 at 6:31 pm #259139Wow. Pages 100% stole strike 3 there.
July 5, 2024 at 6:36 pm #259140Fun stat. Burleson is #2 on the team in “high leverage” situations with a WRC+ of 247. But that’s not even close to first. Pages is at 357. I love Pedro in the clutch. He was like that throughout the minors too from all that I ever saw him.
Of course last season Burleson was dead last at -54.
July 5, 2024 at 6:37 pm #259141Yeah, Pages has had some success J, but all in all it seems like it’s been total anarchy on the bases against the Cardinals this season. It’s probably somewhat because I’m spoiled rotten after having a Cardinal catcher behind HP who pretty much shut down the opposing running game for 19 years.
July 5, 2024 at 6:38 pm #259142Maybe Gray will settle in and this won’t be a total disaster.
July 5, 2024 at 6:42 pm #259143I meant maybe he will settle in after giving up a homer.
July 5, 2024 at 6:43 pm #259144He’s about due to come out of the game anyway. Already at 60 pitches, even after an efficient 10-pitch third in which he still managed to give up a run.
July 5, 2024 at 6:45 pm #259145Several catchers struggling with the bigger bases and oven mitts now. Here are some of the worst:
Maldonado 2 of 38
Herrera 3 of 44
Amaya 6 of 53
Heim 10 of 64July 5, 2024 at 6:48 pm #259146Contreras is 3 of 22
Pages 5 of 21 coming into today.July 5, 2024 at 6:52 pm #259147I picked a bad night to watch the Cards after a break. What channel is Dragnet on?
Nats announcers have really gotten on Donovan a couple times for blocking 2B and the umps not calling it. Is that a new rule that’s being emphasized?
July 5, 2024 at 6:55 pm #259148It’s a newer rule. Maybe a few seasons now.
July 5, 2024 at 6:59 pm #259149
jj-cf-stlParticipantVery Wainwright like
July 5, 2024 at 6:59 pm #259150Corbin’s pitch count is up too.
July 5, 2024 at 7:14 pm #259151Burly with a nice job pulling a grounder behind the runner to advance him. Very unCardinal like. They will probably trade him.
July 5, 2024 at 7:14 pm #259152More useless info tonight . . .
Best value per 100 pitches on each pitch type:
4-Seam: John King (call me surprised)
Cutter: Sonny Gray
Sinker: Mikolas
Slider: Liberatore
Curveball: Helsley
Knuckle Curve: Mikolas
Changeup: Gibson
Thrown Half Eaten Donut: LynnJuly 5, 2024 at 7:15 pm #259153Bling, I saw a stat the other day that will shock you. The Cardinals are the best team in baseball at moving runners over like that.
July 5, 2024 at 7:19 pm #259154This will be the last inning for Gray for sure now.
