I’m thankful they brought Roycroft back. Now we have a decent right handed option when we’re behind. It doesn’t have to be Gallegos.
July 5, 2024 at 7:33 pm #259156I see things sometimes too J. 😉
July 5, 2024 at 7:36 pm #259158You’re killing me Bling!
July 5, 2024 at 7:40 pm #259159An interesting stat is how many games a pitcher has started did the team win. Gray and Lynn are tied with 10. Mikolas and Gibson are tied with 8. Winning doesn’t matter, of course, the metrics wonks tell us that.
July 5, 2024 at 7:42 pm #259160What is the thinking as to what happens when Herrera is ready?
July 5, 2024 at 7:46 pm #259161I think Pages gets sent down. I just can’t see Herrera going down. But in my opinion, they are close to equals and Pages might be the better balance for Contreras.
July 5, 2024 at 7:48 pm #259162Bling, in general, I like the stat on starts where a team wins. Although it still is subject to error because for whatever reason, the Cardinals have scored very few runs for Mikolas in most games every year.
July 5, 2024 at 7:52 pm #259164Once again Goldschmidt failed with runners in scoring position. As I noted earlier, he is 2nd worst on the team.
July 5, 2024 at 8:03 pm #259166I also tend to look at a team’s W/L record during a pitcher’s turn in the rotation. In particular I recall in ’22 the Cardinals at one point were 9-1 in games started by Jose Quintana. He was like a rabbit’s foot for a while there.
July 5, 2024 at 8:10 pm #259167More stats for you . . .
With a minimum of 80 plate appearances with runners in scoring position this year, Goldschmidt is in 86th place out of 87 qualifying hitters. The only one worse: our old friend Paul DeJong.
July 5, 2024 at 8:12 pm #259168Luken Baker just hit number 25. Well in the lead for the International League . . . Again.
July 5, 2024 at 8:13 pm #259169Goldschmidt is in 86th place out of 87 qualifying hitters.
And why was it Ollie had him in the cleanup slot?
Holy cow, Gorman with an RBI. Nice one Gormy.
July 5, 2024 at 8:13 pm #259170The only one worse: our old friend Paul DeJong.
Whew! So we did keep the right one.
July 5, 2024 at 8:14 pm #259171I almost always like the sac-bunt, but that was not only bad time to use it, but also a lousy effort by DC. I hope it comes back to hurt them.
July 5, 2024 at 8:20 pm #259172Well, that 4-3 was a perfect fit. Got a chance.
July 5, 2024 at 8:23 pm #259173This guy’s all heat. Nothing but so far.
July 5, 2024 at 8:25 pm #259174Wooo!
July 5, 2024 at 8:25 pm #259175Nice…Turned it around for a tie game!
July 5, 2024 at 8:26 pm #259176

July 5, 2024 at 8:26 pm #259177Willson a savior. Gray off the hook. New ballgame.
July 5, 2024 at 8:27 pm #259178I don’t care how hard you throw. You know what Reggie said…”I can time a jet.”
July 5, 2024 at 8:27 pm #259179Chip, chip, chip, chip, chip away.
July 5, 2024 at 8:28 pm #259180Need one more chip.
July 5, 2024 at 8:30 pm #2591814 hits for Nolan Sr. Nice to see that. Man, if we could just get 1 of the big bloopers going besides Contreras.
July 5, 2024 at 8:31 pm #259183We’ll get KCB to add the chips up at the end, the Cardinal Way.
