It would be nice if Kittredge would get some guys out. A DP would be nice.

Kitt comes in vs the bottom 4 of their lineup.

Oh oh bases juiced with Giants with only 1 out in a 6-4 Redbird ballgame…..come on, Kitty……you know speaking of Kitty, doesn’t he remind you a lot of Jim Kaat?

    Serious trouble at the door.

We cannot ever seem to play a nice easy game. They are always close. When we pitch we don’t hit. When we hit we don’t pitch.

No game is ever easy for us. Kitty allows another of Pallante’s runners to score. Close the book on Andre.

I’d say it was good fortune to escape with a 1 run lead.

Ok 6-5…..let’s come right back at them and score a couple more in the bottom of the 6th.

This is the time where our offense almost always quits scoring and we count on the bullpen to try to hang on. Let’s change that narrative at Rickwood. We need a 5 spot on the board this inning.

Pretty tall request with those 5 runs this inning, Jnevel…..but I like your way of thinking.

Carlson at .167 and I can recall not too long ago that if an OF’er was hitting below .200 it was just a given that he wasn’t going to be playing with a Big League baseball team. Times sure have changed in a hurry.

I have been to the Negro Leagues museum. Well worth it if your are in Kansas City. Get some BBQ and stop in – when we were there the jazz museum is in the same place, so you can take that in as well.

    Not a good half inning.

Looks like Wrigley Field may be the only ballpark that Pedro Pages ( properly pronounced “Pa-hez”) can hit at……maybe it’s the ivy that gets him going.

It feels like our pitchers waste our good offensive games. We can never win comfortably and always let them close in.

Pages will use a short swing to try to guide a looping single into the outfield. That’s his typical approach. He also occasionally muscles up a fly ball. He seems to hit a fair amount of fly balls actually. Not much of a hitter though. Doubles and triples feel very rare.

“ you know speaking of Kitty, doesn’t he remind you a lot of Jim Kaat?”

Other than the nickname, not at all Pugs. 😀 Kaat was a tall blond left-handed starter, although he relieved late in his career. Kittredge more of a stocky, dark bearded righty reliever.

Well……if not Jim Kaat, how about Jim Mudcat Grant, BicycleMike?

We stopped there a few years ago on the way out to Colorado Springs near your neck of the woods, Bikemike. It was a real neat experience and Arthur Bryant’s is top notch. I really like the KC area. I think it’s developed into a much nicer city than StL.

Jim Kaat’s facial features alway reminded me of Popeye. His pitching features remind me of the HOF…Haha!

Yeah, I like KC. We went to Arthur Bryant’s as well. We enjoy St. Louis also. Stayed at a nice B&B in Lafayette Square, had great Italian food and really enjoyed the visit. This was a few years ago though.

Nope, not Mudcat either Pugs. Maybe Jimmy “The Cat” Hayes is more like it.

I like “aggressive” John King vs “away, away, away” John King.

Marmol is going to debut Kloffenstein (sp?) in the eighth inning of a one run game???

It sure looks that way BikeMike. Must be something wrong with JoJo and Helsley lately. Overuse has broke them.

I’d assume Fernandez, Liberatore, and Leahy all have to be unavailable.
