Agreed.
Hopefully we will field the best lineup we can.
June 19, 2024 at 4:50 pm #257029This game could end up with a 12 to 11 score. Hopefully we have the dozen, cousin.
June 19, 2024 at 5:25 pm #257031“And that’s a dozen cousin” Words of Jack Buck after 12 game winning streak in 1982.
June 19, 2024 at 5:43 pm #257034The spirit of Willie Mays will be all over this game, so the Giants will win it. Then again, there is that great scene in the movie “Brian’s Song” where after hearing about Brian Piccolo’s diagnosis the Chicago Bears dedicated their next game to him, and lost.
In the movie Piccolo is teasing Gale Sayers about the loss saying (paraphrasing) “What’s with you guys – Notre Dame didn’t say ‘Let’s blow one for the Gipper’ “ 😁

ParticipantI’m oddly gonna be passing through Birmingham tomorrow.
June 19, 2024 at 7:46 pm #257040Wow Pads. You should go by Rickwood and take in the atmosphere. It sounds like it will be a great event.
June 19, 2024 at 8:49 pm #257047You had to win a lottery to get tickets. Even if you wanted to go, you would have a hard time finding an available ticket.
June 19, 2024 at 9:03 pm #257048Needs a single ticket, put finger in the air. It will happen!
June 19, 2024 at 9:16 pm #257049That’s more likely than you’d think. My two friends and I were once handed three tickets to a concert by a policeman from a stack that he’d confiscated from a scalper…Rolling Stones, Exile On Main Street tour in 1972.
June 19, 2024 at 11:07 pm #257050Milwaukee wins late Wednesday night over the Angels. 2-0 Brewers the final. Cards now 7.5 games out of 1st place.
June 20, 2024 at 8:59 am #257061Wow 1TD – that is awesome on those Rolling Stones tickets! The Stones are playing out here tonight. My brother-in-law and sister-in-law are going.
They played Folsom Field in Boulder in ‘78 I believe. My ex and I wandered up and listened sitting outside the stadium. Ironically my now brother-in-law was at that event. Little did we know that all these years later I would be married to his sister. 🤪

For clarity, I don’t mean Pads should try to get a ticket. I figure that near impossible. But just go down to the stadium area and hang out and take in the atmosphere – that is an experience in itself.
When the Rockies hosted the All- Star game a couple years ago I was working downtown. At lunch time on Monday and game day walked down to the Coors Field area and just hung out for a bit, as there was all kinds of activity. They have an open air area with a giant TV screen and were showing BP.
It’s cool just to experience the sites and sounds surrounding a special event.
June 20, 2024 at 9:28 am #257064Sweet Stones stories, TD & BicycleMike! Back in the day, I was a concert going fiend. My top 3 concerts of all time were: 1. Genesis. 2. Led Zeppelin. 3. Madonna with Beastie Boys as the warm-up band.
Interesting starting time (6:24pm) for tonight’s game. You just have to love our chances for victory in this game. If you’re a betting person, you might want to go very heavy on St. Louis tonight. I’m calling it 7-4 Cards with Winn taking Winn deep. And speaking of “Winn”, I have already checked with Skippy and all of the fine folks over at the esteemed Elias Sports Bureau, and tonight will mark the first time in ML history where a pitcher with the last name “Winn” will be facing a batter with the last name “Winn” in a regular season game. So I don’t know about you guys, but I’m plunking down some coinage on our Cards to “winn” this ballgame.
June 20, 2024 at 9:33 am #257065Adam Kloffenstein will join the active roster today for the #STLCards. The Cardinals are also permitted an additional position player to serve as the 27th man tonight. That will be Victor Scott II.

June 20, 2024 at 9:41 am #257066Any word on who is going down for Kloffenstein if Scott is the 27th man? Or is Gibson going to the IL?
June 20, 2024 at 9:49 am #257067PadsFS
ParticipantDoubt I can go with a whole family of non-baseball fans. Haha
Glad to see Kloffenstein up. He’s been excellent here lately. I wish they’d ride those hot streaks from the AAA guys better. Kloffenstein is a great start.
June 20, 2024 at 9:55 am #257068The Kloffster could toss his first ML pitch tonight. SF’s Keaton Winn threw his first ML pitch vs our Cardinals last year…..matter of fact, the day prior to Keaton’s first ML appearance marked the first time in his life that he stepped into a ML ballpark. He hails from Ollie, Iowa, which is not exactly a place where one worries about rush hour traffic with it’s population of 201.

Roycroft down for Kloff. No one needed to go down for Scott. He is the extra player for one game only.
As many already know, Kloff was already on the 40-man, making this move easier.
Just a guess, but I could see Kloff going back to Memphis tomorrow for Gallegos.
June 20, 2024 at 1:43 pm #257086“That’s a dozen cousin.” Been awhile since I have heard that one…ha
I think Jay Randolph used to say that too.

June 20, 2024 at 2:47 pm #257095Crawford as a fail safe turns out to be versatile. He’s never been anywhere near a slouch with the mitt. I don’t think you suffer too much at all defensively with him situated at 3B for Arenado. And with the type of lackluster season Nolan’s having with the bat, Crawford may not be all that much inferior in the batter’s box.
June 20, 2024 at 3:12 pm #257097I live an hour from Ollie, Iowa. It’s where the Hoot Owls ____ the Chicken Hawks. Located in the magnificent Skunk River Valley where they still hunt coons on horseback.
June 20, 2024 at 3:37 pm #257099They named it after the Redbird manager? I want a T-Shirt…
