My gameplan would be to tell the hitters to take as many pitches as they can to get Crochet out of there as fast as possible.
Someone needs to tell Edmonds that he doesn’t have to comment on the big LF-CF gap every time. I don’t recall a single time he has mentioned it that a hitter put the ball there.
Would you have left Gorman in yesterday to finish the game Albert?
Probably, but I wouldn’t have felt very confident in him. Maybe getting another walk off would improve his confidence and he could get back on track.
I had a very low confidence level in Gorman taking that last at bat yesterday. But it didn’t improve with Herrera either. So it’s weird to take out a guy you’re supposed to count on and replace him with a rookie backup catcher. That doesn’t help the confidence level of anyone.
He had 38 pitches in the extra inning game. I think I’d pull him now and keep him available as soon as possible. It looks like a B-team pen day that needs the lineup to wake up.
Great outing by Liberatore. I know it is the White Sox, but his stuff looked good and he was hitting his spots more than he did last year in starts.
